Yeah, strange. Their prices seem better than the UpGrad directly, even their other programs listed with various institutions globally. Very attractive pricing for these graduate programs, from several master's to the DBA option... I wonder if anyone has tried any of their offerings in conjunction with whatever third party... RE: UpGrad DBA Golden Gate U - 70% scholarships for 5,000 students - collegecareerstudent - 10-21-2022 Hi, I wanted to post an update on this since I'm in the program and it launched this month. We do get official GGU emails! The GGU dashboard we have to set up a password for in order to get access to the email does mention upGrad on the homepage. We get notified of on campus and virtual events. So far, the classes are on UpGrad. I've completed two modules as part the DBA 800 course, the first of the series. It's easy to use. There are written assignments, downloadable PDFS that summarize what we've learned at the end of each section, and pre-recorded videos that we are required to watch filmed by the professors at GGU directly for our programs. They are high quality. Overall, thus far, I am pleased. I do get a weekly phone call from an UpGrad Buddy meant to keep me on track or answer any questions. GGU does host live sessions and we do get a live sessions schedule. I hope this is helpful to anyone considering going! I haven't looked at them further but they seem to be GGU offerings and placed online using UpGrad's learning system. RE: UpGrad DBA Golden Gate U - 70% scholarships for 5,000 students - collegecareerstudent - 10-21-2022 That is correct. RE: UpGrad DBA Golden Gate U - 70% scholarships for 5,000 students - Harry101 - 10-28-2022 It was posted today from the University Grants Commission saying that such programmes offered by EduTech Companies in collaboration with Foreign Educational Institutes are not recognized. UGC has advised the students not to be misled by advertisements for online Ph.D programmes. It is also advised to aspiring students to verify the authenticity of Ph.D. programmes as per UGC regulations 2016 before taking admission. https://www.hindustantimes.com/education/news/ugc-issues-important-notice-for-ph-d-students-against-misleading-advertisements-101666956927692.html https://www.timesnownews.com/education/ugc-warns-students-against-online-phd-programmes-offered-by-edtech-companies-and-foreign-universities-article-95138352 https://www.thehindu.com/education/online-phd-programmes-offered-by-edutech-companies-with-foreign-universities-not-recognised-ugc-aicte/article66064864.ece When i asked if (GGU) it is sanctioned by the UGC and does it follow the UGC guidelines i got the silent treatment. As it seems to suggest from past posts in the thread it is conducted similar with the SSBM to cut costs, meaning prerecorded videos and staff in the form of UpGrad personal. For what you need a license to conduct higher education, which Upgrad does not have. RE: UpGrad DBA Golden Gate U - 70% scholarships for 5,000 students - collegecareerstudent - 10-28-2022 This is not relevant to people like me on the forum, though. I'm an American temporarily living abroad. The degree comes from Golden Gate University. They follow American guidelines and the professors I've had thus far have all been American. I'm happy. I spoke to Upgrad this week and while they were granted 4000 scholarships originally, when the new programs were added they were told to divide the scholarship allocation over the four programs. They have had two intakes so far and another in planned for December, at which point they will run out of the initial allocation - particularly for the DBA. They have no idea yet if GGU will allow for another round of scholarship awards in the Spring. The person I spoke to said they had been handing them out quite liberally, especially in certain countries, with pretty much everyone who met the university's minimum criteria being given one. RE: UpGrad DBA Golden Gate U - 70% scholarships for 5,000 students - JPN - 02-26-2023 GGU DBA and Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD) now list WES Canada evaluations (for immigration purposes) showing that they are equivalent to earned doctorates. Dated from January 2023. As long as it is recognised in the US I think it shall be fine. |
