I got a response that NCCRS classes are accepted so long as they are on an ACE transcript. What? If that's the case, they don't accept NCCRS classes.

If that's true, it might be worth calling or emailing NYS ED.  I've found them to be responsive and helpful.

My inquiry was forwarded on to someone else, so fingers crossed that it's just a new person in the transcript office. Otherwise, I'll do just that.

Coursera's Google IT certificate might cover this. Otherwise, I should have this covered soon with ASU in one way or another. I'll be finishing CIS105 (Computer Apps & IT) at ASU next week and I'm working on CSE110 (Programming for Everyone) which will finish in about 2 months.

I just re-read the whole thread and realized that Dean related that they accepted Sophia's Intro to IT for him.  I wonder what's going on?

Since they don't seem to know what NCCRS is (still waiting on second response), possibly one or more new people in the office fudging things up.

is there any other free online Associate degree or diploma program like Pierpont BOG?

I have 117 credits but I'm surprised I can't even get any degree lol

I don't know of any.

May I ask why you don't finish the requirements for your Batchelors?  Without knowing either your degree program or the breakdown of your completed courses, I can't help but observe that you might only be 3-12 credits away from a four-year-degree, which for virtually any purpose, throws rocks at an AAS like the Pierpont BOG.

Can the electives be anything? I need some RA credits. NMJC has classes open like College Success and Equine Nutrition lol. Would those be accepted?

Muhaha, there are many schools that give out FREE Associates degrees, but there is a catch, you need to complete a Bachelors from them. If you have 24 RA credits already, COSC would be the cheapest state college that provides an Associates degree through test-out or alternative credit. I would pick them over Excelsior or TESU because of the cost alone. You can get a BSLS with them and the Associates in Arts or Science "technically would be free" en route to the Bachelors.

The electives can be literally anything, yes. I would suggest choosing ones that will help you on the path to a bachelors degree but the choice is really up to you. Tel Learning has classes that would be more relevant and are RA credit.

ACE credit just got accepted so my sister should have her AAS by the end of the year. A lot of her courses came in as FREL but you'll have to speak to the BOG advisor (Nancy Parks) who will work with your credits to get them to meet the requirements. She just got an e-mail finalizing the december degree conferral and hopefully everything works out, she could use the pick me up.

That's great!

Incidentally, if any of your sister's ACE credits were from Sophia, I would be grateful if you could post equivalencies that were accepted by Pierpont for Gen Eds.
