2008 Presidential Election - studyhard - 11-05-2008 I guess if folks like socialism and high taxes and abortion they're happy now. I cried for a long time last night after I saw the results. 2008 Presidential Election - CLEP101 - 11-05-2008 OnMyWay Wrote:God Bless America!! Yes Indeed! 2008 Presidential Election - Drummerboy - 11-05-2008 ShotoJuku Wrote:[SIZE="4"][COLOR="Red"]Not only that but you will have to pay for their books, tuition, graduation fee, diploma fee, and class ring. Not only that but they won't even be American citizens that you pay for. Did you know that there are about 47 million abortions every year? I can't believe America actually elected a man who is adament about murdering babies. Hitler only killed about 5-6 million Jews. That was just a kiddie tea-party compared to America who claims to be the most humane nation in the world. Obama is also going to cut our military spending and get rid of our nuclear weapons. He is for sodomy, is against Israel, and has muslim roots. Did you know he was named after BARAK, the horse that supposably took Muhammed to the 7th Heaven? He also said he has campaigned in all 57 states. Last time I checked, America only has 50 states, but ironically, there are 57 muslim states! Just where was he campaigning, anyway? 2008 Presidential Election - Old Rusty Pipe - 11-05-2008 Drummerboy Wrote:Not only that but they won't even be American citizens that you pay for. 1) I voted for the man, and so did quite a few more individuals than for McCain. It was a tough race for all involved, and now its finished. Lets move on past this. 2) Comparing someone to Hitler simply plays into Godwin's Law: How to behave on an internet forum | SkyMinds.Net See Step 2. 3) Not going anywhere near the abortion issue... 4) He, like McCain, both want to increase the size of the Army and Marines. I wouldn't call that decreasing the military. As to nuclear weapons, what is your source on that one? And I might add decreasing nuclear weapons might not be such a bad idea. We don't need as many as we have to still kill everything many times over on the planet. The track record for the Air Force keeping up with them isn't all that good either these days. 5) Nothing wrong with sodomy between consenting adults. I assume you are referring to homosexuality. He's against any law mandating marriage. He's for civil unions that confer many of the same legal rights as marriage. Marriage as a religious institution is up to the religion. Civil unions as defined by the government is just being fair. Part of being in a secular society. We all have to be treated equally. 6) Obama isn't Muslim. Even if he was, so what? There is nothing wrong with being Muslim. Muslims have shed blood for this country the same as anyone else. They fight in our military, and are our neighbors. America is a melting pot of quite a bit of different cultures. This means religions too. Respectfully disagreeing with someone of another religion is one thing. Its part of what I love about this country. Don't judge a religion by its fanatics. It demeans all of us. 2008 Presidential Election - martialartist - 11-05-2008 old rusty, Amen! The crusades were fanatics too, so lets respect each other religion. China has no real religion, but yet they are more conservative than were are. Lets all pray that Obama succeeds if we truly care for the GREAT Nation. 2008 Presidential Election - dc67 - 11-05-2008 I will start this by saying my grapes were pretty sour this morning. I am not saying Obama didn't win fair and square, he won by a very good margin. I do argue that Nancy Pelosi said this morning America had given them a mandate and they would push through with thier liberal agenda. It is not like it was a vast majority. That is what scares so many of us who did not want Obama or all of the new Democrats in office. I just hope liberal doesn't spiral into Socialism because that is what he promised, just not in those words. As much as I really cannot stand him or what he believes in, I do wish him well because my families well being is at stake. The cynical side of me would like to see him fall on his face to make it easier for the Republicans to regain control in the next mid term and presidential elections but I do not want to go through the pain that would come with it so I hope he does well. That is not to say I fully support him because I would rather have my nuts squezzed in a vice than to say that, but hopefully it isn't as painful as I imagine it will be, atleast for those of us with a job that try to play by the rules and try to depend on ourselves, not the government. John McCain ran a horrible campaign and Obama's was very good. While we all know many blacks voted for him just because he is black, he also reached out to many other people. I wish we could put it all to bed now but it wont go away. For me, I am done though. May God Bless America, we are going to need it. 2008 Presidential Election - martialartist - 11-05-2008 It's rather amazing that they all call him black as if the 50% of his DNA that is white does not matter. As a matter of fact he's more white than he his black, because he was raised by his white grand parents and his mother, not that race should matter, but the fact is based on biology. I am not at all fearful, because in the end GOD will have his way, so we can not let fear paralyzes us. Anyway, the Republicans deserve to lose, because of the hypocrsy they have displayed over the last 15 years. Newt Ginridge while going after Bill clinton in the 90's was cheating on his wife at the same time. These so-called neo-cons have hyjact a very good party and have difiled good principles. The party needs serious rebuilding and the sooner we accept that the fact is the sooner we can move on and get the country back on the right track. The party needs to break the influence of Rush and Hannity, because they have become too divisive. I am very concern for the party I believe has the better ideas. But, I am very optimistic and will not allow the constant partisan arguement to suppress my joy. 2008 Presidential Election - OnMyWay - 11-05-2008 studyhard Wrote:I guess if folks like socialism and high taxes and abortion they're happy now. Ok, I know we all have our different views on politics and all, but let's not make personal "attacks". I'm not trying to sound like a peacenik or anything, but it's kinda nasty to kick someone when they're down. ![]() 2008 Presidential Election - OnMyWay - 11-06-2008 Oh, because the comment I responded to wasn't nasty? I didn't make a personal attack - you will definitely know when I do. |
