Both my daughter and I have taken many of the ASU courses (first Global Freshman Academy and now Earned Admission). They are definitely semester courses. All have transferred as RA credits to other RA colleges - including TESU

I attended ASU, they are semester based. Even if they were quarter based, that would still be a good deal.

If nothing else, having ASU credits generally looks better on your transcript than some small local CC that almost nobody's ever heard of. Depending on what you're trying to do, even $400 per class is a bargain. I'm not knocking CCs at all; they're great and the quality of education can be the same or better than some big-name universities. But they just don't have the same name recognition and "authority" that big universities do.

Maybe, but for the purposes of duel credit in high school and being able to take an English Comp 2 class in her senior year, she needs a full three semester hour course to serve as the prereq. For someplace like the Big 3 it's fine because she'll have other electives. But our goal is more myopic. It needs to fit for what the high school requires, what CCP allows, and then what will transfer and how it will transfer when she applies for the program she wants at her school of choice. I already talked to her guidance counselor and they won't allow things like straighterliner, Sophia, or study.com. otherwise I would have her jump into those. We thought about CLEP, but testing center are closed.

Nobody cares where you took English Comp 101 at. Nobody.

And BTW - plenty of people have never heard of ASU.  We tend to assume that people know lots of schools, but they don't.  Most people know like 10-20, and generally they are big name Ivies, a few others, and a few locals.  Outside of that, they don't know and don't care.

ASU offers more than just English Comp. Duh.

And if you're trying to go to a school that isn't one of the big 3, having an alternate way to get at least some of your credits relatively cheaply without resorting to alternative forms of credit, like SDC, Saylor, etc. is important.

Also, most schools care very much where you took English comp from or else everyone would accept ACE credits.

Has anyone taken the Health and Wellness course? I couldn't find the syllabus and I was hoping someone could post it, send it to me, or let me know what types of assignments it has and how the final grade is determined. Any info would be appreciated!

Thanks!
Danielle

I don't see a syllabus either, just the course brief that has the same info as on the course information page.

If you email the professor(s), they might be willing to share it with you. I've done that for some B&M distance learning classes to determine if I could handle the workload.
