Not quite sure about the whole drugs in Lit/modernist lit transfer, as to which is which. In a sensible world the Modernist Lit course is the upper level one, and Drugs in Lit came in at 299. In any case, that's five upper level courses right there, folks! If I could find an online nonwestern lit course, I could get an English degree Smile

U of Idaho IS has World Lit I & II for $510/course.

BYU IS has Chinese Lit in Translation-Poetry, and Readings in Japanese History & Culture for $534/course

Now, if we could get someone to go through and do all those math courses. I want a review of them, as well as to know how TESU brings them in.

I was almost the guinea pig for this, but I only had a few days left on my sub and really didn't like the way it was setup, also didn't need anymore gen eds that math would fit into.

BYU Chinese Literature in Translation appears to count as CHI-340 in the PLA search.
Drawing a blank for Japanese History and Culture, but I rather doubt it would count as Lit.

I'll email a petition for the Biblical Lit course to be considered nonwestern lit. Can't hurt, and if it works, there's a great path to an English degree.

I signed up and started at Shmoop last week.

Literature in the Media: I enjoyed the course overall and found the style of writing to fit this course very well. I really wasn't interested in reading any sick-lit and was glad to find the summary of Fault in our Stars was more than enough to pass the tests. Completed over 3 days.

Shakespeare's Plays: I didn't get a good start on this course and by the end of the first unit only had 68%. As the course went on I started getting the hang of it and finished the course at 80%. I only used the summaries, themes, characters and analysis, I didn't read the full plays. I didn't feel the sarcastic/witty writing style worked too well here, by the end of course I was feeling a little tired of it and felt that the subject deserved a more neutral tone. Completed over the weekend.

The writing style at Shmoop is interesting, and I get that it is probably aimed at teenagers, but i'm not sure how long these courses are going to work for Shmoop. They use a lot of current slang, jokes, and viral internet themes, which might become dated pretty quickly, requiring a rewrite of all the courses in the next few years. For me, it starts out as interesting and helps to get into the material, but then becomes tiring to read after a few hours and I wish it would just stop.

On to the next course.

Another big thanks to Notgodot for doing all the legwork at TESU, this is a big help to me right now and is going to help a lot of people in the future.

I took the Schmoop Drugs in Literature course and transferred it to TESU. It came in as LIT-299.

I just submitted my ace transcripts and will see how modernist literature comes in. I think I read here it could be Lit299 or Lit399. That could be the difference in whether or not I need to take one more additional upper level class. I'll post when it's reviewed.

Can I ask does that petition work for everyone? I really need a nonwestern credit, I hope so. Please update Smile

If Drugs in Literature came in as LIT-299 Special Topics, then Modernist Lit should be the LIT-399 Special Topics.

In general, yes. There's always a chance that something will go wrong and require another appeal.
