My Journey from Dead End Job to Success - passit1 - 02-16-2016 dfrecore - good advice...is making me review the options....delaying for a semester is one. Also, WGU is self paced, so pacing myself comfortably my first semester is an option too. I have a proclivity toward productivity -it might be interesting to work on the MBA a little slower than how I usually do things and see what that's like. My Journey from Dead End Job to Success - marquardt21 - 02-16-2016 Congrats on your success and good luck in the new job. It's always nice to read about people reaching their dreams. My Journey from Dead End Job to Success - l8989v - 02-16-2016 Congrats Dina! Taking your story as an inspiration towards my own journey! My Journey from Dead End Job to Success - LaterBloomer - 02-17-2016 Wonderful news! That sounds like some sort of stressful interview process. You must be so proud of yourself! My Journey from Dead End Job to Success - passit1 - 02-23-2016 Things are rolling right along. Resigned from my current job, last day is March 2; Amazon start date is March 7. Passed my background check for Amazon - always amusing since i'm the most squeeky clean boring nerd going. WGU mentor phone call for the MBA program was last night and there's a conference call tonight to get ready to start working. Very exciting stuff! Of course, there is Girl Scout cookie drama going on but if there wasn't at least one colossal fail to deal with, it wouldn't be a real non paid volunteer position, would it? My Journey from Dead End Job to Success - passit1 - 02-25-2016 WGU MBA program starts with Managing Organizations and Leading People. I have to write 2 papers and I'm 2/3 done with the first one. My goal is to have the first class done before I start my new job on March 7. My Journey from Dead End Job to Success - passit1 - 02-27-2016 Finished the first paper and emailed it tonight. Now to wait and see if I need revisions. (fingers crossed) Paper was supposed to be 10-16 pages and mine was 16 including cover and citations page. Decent length for the criteria and I feel good about what I sent. Next paper is 6-10 pages of the strengths and weaknesses of my own leadership style. Should do just fine with this one. Criticizing myself is a very sharply honed saw. Amazon sent me my first weeks schedule! So excited. Can't wait to start. My Journey from Dead End Job to Success - passit1 - 02-29-2016 Some minor revisions and I understand completely where my mentor is coming from with the critique. Quick to fix and if IT can get Taskstream working, I'll officially submit my first paper tonight. Already started on the second paper which is an analysis of my leadership style. Should go quick since most of my brain energy every day is spent in self criticism. Or crowing about how awesome I am. There's no middle ground with me. Anyone want a slightly used, weird brain? I'm tired of it! My Journey from Dead End Job to Success - passit1 - 03-02-2016 Yeeeehaaaa! First paper meets requirements. Started the second paper already and should finish it tomorrow. With any luck the first course will be done this week. My last day at my old job was today so I have Thursday and Friday off and start at Amazon on Monday. So much going on but its all good. My Journey from Dead End Job to Success - Al2010x - 03-02-2016 Congratulations on your new job, you will do amazing specially with your new empowerment. I wish you all the best. |
