RA808 Wrote:Anyone have a suggestion for a quick and easy test given my requirements? I have been super, super busy lately and am a little behind on my goal. I would like to keep the credits coming but am unsure on what to take next. I have macroeconomics scheduled for Oct, but that seems to be a tough one that I'm going to start studying for soon. But in the meantime, looking for something quick and easy. I might do US History 2 as I found US History 1 easy enough, but would appreciate other suggestions.

Also, do I need to re-apply at TESC to keep them holding my credits? It's been more than 6 months since I first applied.

To answer a few of your questions:

-I failed Macro by one point (and didn't need it anyway) so study up for that one. It seems to be easier for some than for others.
-If you liked US I then US II would be a good progression, I went with CLEP Social Sciences instead without the other social science related courses completed you might not do well on that one.
-For now you should consider completing the ALEKS and Straighterline courses you need, and maybe add in something like DSST Management Information Systems which should fit into your open Nat Sci/Math requirement.
-From the previous post, courses like CLEP Management do not count as General Education Electives. Check the TESC catalog and look for courses that are listed under Humanities, Nat Sci/Math, or Social Sciences.
-Once you apply you have six months to enroll. If it has been over six months you will probably have to reapply when you are ready to get moving again and may have to submit scores again. After those six months all bets are off on whether or not they have your scores still.
-If you are not ready for graduation within a year just accumulate the credits where they are and bring them again, paying TESC and then having the six months expire won't help much in the end. When are ready send in the scores again and you'll be all set to get your degree.

OK, I may do DSST Management Information Systems. US History 2 seems easy enough, but a lot of studying. What level of difficulty would you say DSST MIS is? I work with computers daily.

DSST Management Information Systems is considered harder than the other two exams but is still doable (it is upper level ACE credit too). If you enjoyed DSST Intro to Computing that you took then you should have no trouble, just look for information areas which differ between the exams. Check out these links I used:

Thanks for the info! I took DSST MIS and actually found it pretty easy. Great suggestion. Studied very little for it and did fine. I do well with computers and work with them in an Internet-related field, so that helped. Next up is macro in 3 weeks and I plan to start studying NOW. I think I am going to focus on that one for the time being, but will need to figure out what's next after that. Maybe ALEKS Intermediate Algebra plus an easier CLEP/DSST test.

I'm starting to consider getting myself to ~80 credits before I get my AA degree, that way I may only have to spend one year of tuition to get both my AA and BSBA.

Passed macro without a problem. Just registered for micro. That'll get me to 51 if I pass, leaving 9 credits. I have ALEKS Int. Algebra on the to-do list as well. So I just need 2 more CLEP/DSST tests.

Any suggestions on low effort tests to take from here on out to get to the AA?

Bumping the thread for suggestions on those last 2 tests...

It depends on your background. I scored highest on Introductory Psychology and Intro to Educational Psychology. I used this site as a guide.

One thing I'm not super clear on yet is what falls under "General Education Electives" for DSST and CLEP?

Also, one last question: what's easier, ALEKS Intermediate Algebra or College Mathematics CLEP? Almost seems like the CLEP is easier. I hate math!
