You can borrow more than the cost of attendance with Direct Unsub Loans. I'm doing it right now! Not using Grad PLUS Loans. There is no fin aid other than loans for grad students. Scholarships aren't from the FAFSA.
I tried for my third semester. VUL is pretty strict on borrowing. Outside of your tuition of $5000 (now $6000) and the $300 technology fee, they will only let you borrow an additional $1,200. No more. But, you can borrow less. That's it.

That's...different. Cost of attendance is supposed to include housing costs, even for online students.

That's really weird. Most schools have no problem allowing grad students to take out a small fortune in loans. Maybe schools are finally starting to wake up about the problems student loans are creating.

Unfortunately VUL doesn't recognize off-campus housing. They expect you to be working while you're doing their program. Bit misguided imo.

Also @newdegree I see what you mean about this IRB application. This thing is the beast. I got assigned the largest part, the syn review. The professor wants a minimum of 60 references, 100 preferred. She stated in her last class with us she expects 30 pages.
DHA 809 pretty much requires an essay each week at this point. There's a lot in this class.

30 pages seem light... with multiple people working on it. Imagine one person having to do all the work. Each person was hitting over 30 pages. We were the only cohort that had to suffer and do it independently. Shout out to Cohort 2 for doing it alone with no help.

Also was your 809 a group class? We were assigned to groups for discussion boards. We have to do 3 DBs a week. Each one requires 12 questions to be answered.
