Since proctoring is optional, should we use it when considering transferring to COSC?

I completed 10 courses in a month for $80.  Where's the risk?  That's $2.67 per credit - the price of a coffee.

Shmoop isn't especially easy.  I have good general knowledge.  There are 2 things to remember.  The pass mark is 70% and you have 2 tries at each exam.  I took all the exams cold.  Then I redid them one at a time, fully reading and understanding the writings in each lesson before doing the exam.  When I hit 70% average, I was done.

Did you have success to transfer the un-proctored Shm*op credits?

Anyone have the latest info?

COSC and Excelsior did.  CSU Global tentatively accepted them but kept asking for an official transcript despite the fact that the ACE Transcript they had was an official transcript.

Wow. The one without proctor?

I have taken dozens and dozens of distances courses over the years, some from good schools, and have yet to take a proctored exam.  Wrote a lot of papers.

I called and spoke with COSC today and they will accept ACE and NCRRS credits from anywhere.
She had not heard of Shmoop but stated that they don't look at where the ACE or NCRRS credits come from, so it doesn't matter where you get them.
Maybe the email is in regards to the non-proctored Shmoop credits.

Thank you very much for clearing up all this confusion.

I would take that with a huge grain of salt. I have had a COSC adviser say they don't take Shmoop at all

Your mileage may vary but I would confirm it at the very least before you take the time to do the courses

You can only confirm if you are enrolled.  Any other opinion you get is from the last person they hired who is stuck on the phones.

I was enrolled for a mini-term in winter 2019. That's when I asked.

Like I just said, you do whatever you want to do. The worst thing that could happen is that you waste your time and money on Shmoop courses that don't count, and if that doesn't bother you then it doesn't bother me.
