**this was a quick look and you have to get the plan approved, but it should be very close.
I was going to spend the $75 to finish the application until I decided to re-read this post...this obviously looks like a very educated theory as to my completion...with what has been discussed would it be universally agreed that tesc would be probably the better way to go for me via the 8 tecep method? I'm in my 10th business day with them and anxiously waiting my review of my transcripts and licensing review.
anyway to speed up this process?
*secondly* I've applied for financial aid and have a feeling I may get it, (I initially chose barry university but their full time student fees are 14k..I dont want to look at any loan options) so I chose TESC secondary and just completed the handbook. if I do get awarded, I think the enrolled option would be the better way to go for me...I'd look to complete it in one semester if possible
but I'm just as clueless about how financial aid works as I was when I first got here

TESC just changed some things beginning 1 July. Hopefully, youre under the previous catalog.

Can anyone explain what the tesc changed are/mean? I did a search but am not sure of the conclusions I am seeing. As of July 1st certain bachelor programs can not be tested out?

I would like a clarification as well about July 1 TESC changes. I went to their website and noticed there isn't a history degree listed under online degrees at Thomas Edison State College: Online Degrees and Certificates. It looks like the social studies major is the closest completely online substitute for a history degree. http://www.tesc.edu/heavin/ba/Social-Sciences.cfm
This could be a problem for some students: "A maximum of two college-level courses equating to the 100 level can be applied toward the area of concentration."

The history degree is listed in the "What you can study" section, meaning that you cannot complete the degree entirely online THROUGH TESC. Most people on here bring in outside credit anyway.

Yeah, same here. I know the prices for the PPC have seem to have been jacked up. I guess Dr. Pruitt's salary has to come from somewhere.

TESC issued a new catalog for their degree programs. Some of the gen ed requirements changed. If anyone was planning their degree before July 1st but apply after July 1st may have to make some slight changes to their degree plan. TESC now requires 3 credits of oral communications such as speech, and 3 credits of information literacy such as literature. The number of credits for different categories in the gen ed requirements changed such as natural science requiring 4-7 credits instead of the 3 credits previously. The area of study changed for some programs such as psychology and criminal justice. I think the BSBA has some slight changes. One program that changed quite a bit was psychology. It used to have 3 required courses with 21 electives. Now it has more specific requirements that cannot be tested out of like before but can still be done easily with Tor College Credits or other sources. Most of the changes are still test (DSST, CLEP, TECEP etc) or alternative credit friendly (Straighterline, Penn Foster, Tor College Credits, etc.) and credits can still be transferred in.
