On 7/26/09 Artcoffiewords mentioned ALEKS listing support books for some of the courses. Does anyone know where these are listed & if there is one for precal?
Thanks for your help!

The list of recommended books can be found here: Mathematics - Textbook Integration . They are absolutely not necessary. For us they are a nice extra.

Sometimes looking something up in a book or taking time to read a chapter will clear up confusion. Neither my son or I is in any hurry to finish quickly, so we may take a different approach than those that are just trying to get math credits done as quickly as possible. I think I am done with all of my math credits (still waiting for it to be official from APU), but this is my son's first college credit. In the past when we have used online math programs we have regretted not having a book to refer back to when we have moved on to the next level. For the few dollars, averaging around $5, that we paid for the textbooks used on Amazon it is worth it for the extra reference material for us. I choose to buy mostly the ones written by Lial because I knew them to be good, but really just plug in the different available titles in Amazon and figure out what is cheapest if you want a book for extra reference.

Oh, as far as I can tell ALEKS cannot link them in an independent/homeschool account. I didn't press the issue because it seemed like a waste of energy when it is so easy to just look up a topic using the book's index.

I followed a link for a free 1-month trial for ALEKS and completed the sign-up process. How long should it take before I receive the voucher/login information?
The signup was done on Tuesday night around 8pm eastern. Anyone have any exp with how long it normally takes?
Thanks

How can you tell when you have reached the 70% mark?

In the master account under students progress you will see the bar of your percentage. And also when you end an assessment it will tell you.
Heres the thing i dont think that they offer that through the trial. I think the trial is like a demo. Im not sure but thats what i thought from what a friend had told me.

Now, I'm concerned... If I complete the course, reaching 70% or more while on the trial month, can I still have it listed on ACE?
