Jg_nuy, do you think your son could ask advising if any of the statistics.com courses would fulfill UL requirements for the BACS? Our son would love to know, and he is not old enough yet to enroll (and TESU advising doesn't answer it if you are not currently a degree seeking student)

Do you have a list of the courses you’re interested in asking about? Advising will rarely answer an open ended question.

There are only 3 courses we would be interested in for UL in the BACS degree. All of these are ACE recommended for 3 upper level credit each:

Optimization with linear programming (recommended by ACE for UL in Mathematics)
Introduction to Network Analysis (recommended by ACE for UL in Computer Science)
SQL - Introduction to Database Queries (recommended by ACE for UL in Computer Science)

[Originally, we also had our eyes on the Data Visualization course, but it is only good for 2 credits, not 3. So that is not a good bang for buck.]

Will let you know what they say. All 3 of the ACE recommendations expire at the end of next month, so I imagine that they are in process of ACE renewal?

FYI - the SQL class is listed as lower level in ACE:

Thank you so much.

That is interesting about the SQL course. It is listed on the statistics.org website as being approved for Upper Level. Also, if you go to the BS in Data Science at TESU website, all of the UL courses are marked with asterixes, and this is one of them. So I guess we will see if it comes in as UL. I also wonder if it comes in as Computer Science at all, or as a Data Science course (and if it counts for computer science AOS).

Among these three courses, the Network Analysis has been reported to be the easiest, with the least amount of statistics and programming knowledge required. It would be great if that was an upper level computer science course.

From prior inquiries, if they come in as DSI suffix, they will not apply to the BACS. If they come in as STA, they will likely will apply as AOS Electives. I’ll keep you posted once my son hears back.

SDC took forever for the review of this exam. It finally came into TESU.

In the meantime, he added History to the BA for after return from vacation.

BACS and BA-History together??? Plus BS-CIS and BS-Entrepreneurship together? Cool.

Our daughter (just 10 years old!) has a preliminary pass pending review from SDC for the Presentation skills in the workplace exam. It has been 8 days since the exam. I think they are probably short staffed or they have a lot of people taking exams with the $75 deal. She is not ready for any other exams at her age, so we let the second exam expire. Still not bad, $75 for 3 credits for her. Our 14 year old son passed the DSST Principles of Advanced English Composition by the skin of his teeth - score of 400 exactly. Last year, he had failed the DSST Ethics in Technology (but has since passed Business Ethics at SDC). I think he has become a bit of a mascot of the people working at the Prometric testing center. They said he could come back at any time and that it was such a nice thing to have a teenager come through, with all the dentists and physicians taking board exams and the construction workers who bring in dozens of books and the accountants with their super hard exams.

Yes, he’s added a pretty interesting combo.

Wow your kids are very impressive!

Yeah, SDC is pretty overwhelmed right now in their reviews and in answering support tickets.

Kiddo completed Health Services Policy on Study. Interesting class, no exam but a couple of longer assignments.
