Court temporarily blocks Biden’s student loan forgiveness

Nebraska Attorney General Doug Peterson, one of the six attorneys general leading the effort to block the debt relief program, praised the court’s decision.

“We are pleased the temporary stay has been granted,” Peterson said in a statement. “It’s very important that the legal issues involving presidential power be analyzed by the court before transferring over $400 billion in debt to American taxpayers.”

This is different than the student loan forgiveness that impacts all federal student loans. This settlement is due to colleges who scammed students and/or violated the law. Many of these colleges no longer exist yet students had to repay on the loans from schools who lost their accreditation, closed abruptly, oversold on their success rates which is ridiculously comment, etc.

Yes, of course you're right.  I guess it all just seems sorta connected to me.

Not really. The government has been cancelling student loans from these types of colleges for years. ITT, Concordia, countless others. All cancelled because the schools went belly up and fraudulent.

For-Profit Colleges

The idea is that a business is motivated to make a profit, and that bias will affect teaching students skills that will be valuable in the job marketplace.

Non-profit/Public Colleges

A lot of times, these colleges do the bare minimum to get by. This is often why they are 10 years behind in teaching old theories that don't apply in today's job market. Also, there are some FAKE Non-profits that are for-profit in disguise.

With either model, both can equal poor outcomes.
