You can complete 2 courses per month at that rate. That is usually equivalent to 6credit hours(normal college courses are worth 3 credit hours each). RE: BS in Psychology - Cheap and Fast (and dirty) - LadySearchDog - 11-22-2018 Mnomadic- see... a test ranging $225 would cause me great anxity! I would feel pressure to pass it since I spent so much money. Dang, didn’t know tests could cost so much! I guess you have to pay somehow. Either wih your time or money. For the $199/mo you pay to Study.com, that comes with 2 free exams per month, each exam earns 3 credits towards your degree, or 6 per month. RE: BS in Psychology - Cheap and Fast (and dirty) - LadySearchDog - 11-22-2018 Merlin that free testing helps! I still doubt I’ll find most if not all my courses I need to graduate. https://www.wichita.edu/academics/adult_learning/priorlearning/index.php Looks like ACE isn't an option for that school. That means no study.com, StraighterLine, etc. If you're bound and determined to use test out methods, why not consider the big 3? Also, even with the big 3, you will have to take SOME courses, including the capstone and cornerstone. As far as I know, there is no way to COMPLETELY test out of a bachelor's anymore. Dang, didn’t know tests could cost so much! I guess you have to pay somehow. Either wih your time or money. Even with traditional college college courses you generally have to pay as much or more(or much more) money than the test out methods. Often several hundred (or a thousand+) per course unless you are using some sort of financial aid. RE: BS in Psychology - Cheap and Fast (and dirty) - LadySearchDog - 11-22-2018 I wonder if you have to watch the videos on places like study.com ,or can you just skip it and take the quizzes? My #1 reason behind wanting to do these strategies from this message board is so if I get bored of personality psychology and want to jump over to abnormal psychology , I could do that. Go at my own pace . Or even jump from subject to subject. However if study.com ,or whatever I choose for that month, doesn’t have the subject of my interest at that time, I would have to wait to invest in a different program to dive in on that subject ,or go ahead and pay for a month in that different program TOO! Another $199 a month! RE: BS in Psychology - Cheap and Fast (and dirty) - mysonx3 - 11-22-2018 For Psychology, Study.com has almost everything that is available as alternative credit. And no, you don't have to watch the videos, as long as you do the quizzes RE: BS in Psychology - Cheap and Fast (and dirty) - LadySearchDog - 11-22-2018 Mnomadic- so ACE are for like study.com? Just trying to get the lingo down. Thanks! RE: BS in Psychology - Cheap and Fast (and dirty) - mysonx3 - 11-22-2018 Yes, Study.com is ACE for most of their courses. Some are NCCRS (similar to ACE, but less widely accepted), and some are both. Most stuff recommended on here is ACE or NCCRS (usually ACE). Totally understand on the lingo! I was in the same place a couple months ago. Thanks! Correct. The link you provided said "no" to corporate ace credit recommendations(this would include study.com, StraighterLine, Sophia.org, and many of the other providers) and also "no" to "institutional challenge exams" which I assume means no TECEPs, Uexcel or CBEs. You can just read/skim the transcripts or skip straight to the quizzes. I understand you wanting to use these test out and alternative credits strategies. What you have to understand is that they work best at the big 3, which is why we advocate for those 3 colleges here. There are some other schools you can test out of maybe 50-75% of a degree but the big 3 Allow you to use tests and alternative credits for 95-97% of a degree. If these methods worked every where, then I'd try to test out of Harvard or MIT instead of TESU. |
