forumuser Wrote:Yes, ProctorsU is a very awkward company. I'm glad my university doesn't work with them. At least most universities provide other options besides ProbesU (which many would prefer over some weird guy in India gaining full access to computer). Straighterline is making a mistake by only providing one option, and that option being ProbesU.

I don't know where you are getting your information from but I have yet to run into a "weird proctor from India". From my 8 experiences with ProctorU I had a even mix of white, black, hispanic, male, and female proctors. And the few locations I remember being mentioned were all based in the USA.

If you don't like ProctorU then don't use it, simple as that.

In all of my testing experience using ProctorU, I have had blacks, whites, hispanics, male, and female proctors. Once I had an Indian but the experience was like any other proctor that I had in the past. Me thinks ProctorU is great and I never had problem with someone remotely using my computer.

Proctoring is has probably helped to legitimize this method of earning credits. However, proctoring does not have to be done through ProctorU if there are alternatives that don't require those extra, unsecured steps. I earned nearly all of my credits through them and it did make me uneasy answering the questions on the screen where they can easily see the answers. And I wasn't crazy about people poking around my computer either. What proctoring services are alternatives to ProctorU? If we speak loudly enough, I think think Straighterline will listen.
