a little WGU MBA review.... - rebel100 - 02-19-2013 namwen Wrote:I am scheduled to start the Master of Entrepreneurship degree at Western Carolina University in the fall. Your review of WGU has me very much getting the itch. Can I pull it off before the fall? Hmmmm...The only thing that would stop you is....well, you. WGU will certainly allow it. Understand the WGU MBA is not entrepeneur centered...definantly has an established business/manager feel. I bet it's a whole lot cheaper than Wester Carolina though! ![]() a little WGU MBA review.... - namwen - 02-19-2013 rebel100 Wrote:The only thing that would stop you is....well, you. I haven't done a lick of work on the MBA since my last post and tomorrow is the 1st of March! This is the dark side of self paced learning...I have to stop procrastinating...in related news I should finish up the third season of Downton Abby and the 6th season of Dexter tonight...all while Rome burns (loosing the job thing) Muhahahahaha!!!! a little WGU MBA review.... - cookderosa - 02-28-2013 rebel100 Wrote:I'm a horrible student at times. NAUGHTY! lol a little WGU MBA review.... - LaterBloomer - 02-28-2013 Okay, enough playing. Back to work. a little WGU MBA review.... - merolpn - 02-28-2013 rebel100 Wrote:...in related news I should finish up the third season of Downton Abby and the 6th season of Dexter tonight... Catching up on Dexter limited my study time a month ago. My girlfriend just discovered Downton Abby, I wish she didn't. I am only into the second season and hooked, actually I was hooked in the first ten minutes. Who am I kidding? I can't believe how much I like it. When I have to choose study, Duck Dynasty or Downton, Downton Abby wins every time. Thank God my girlfriend went to California this week, I may accomplish something. Don't ruin it for me and I won't tell you how Dexter ends. a little WGU MBA review.... - rebel100 - 03-01-2013 merolpn Wrote:Catching up on Dexter limited my study time a month ago. Phil?, was the starting Quarterback at Louisiana Tech...his backup...backup now...was Terry Bradshaw! Dude opted out of the NFL so he could stay in La. Hunt and raise a family...cool story. I should not be a Downton Abby fan...but I'm drawn to that stupid show. There's no valid explanation. a little WGU MBA review.... - sanantone - 03-01-2013 Call me crazy, but this thread has made WGU less appealing to me. The whole grading process seems annoying and I'm not really seeing the whole competency-based learning thing. For the modules with performance assessments, which are just about all of them, it seems like there is a set number of assignments for everyone to complete regardless. The only things differentiating WGU from other schools are that there are no grades and it's self-paced. Although not as evident in this thread, the most common complaint I've seen for WGU is about the grading process. A lot of students say they often have no idea what needs to be revised when their papers come back. One person on the other forum is convinced that the papers are graded by Indians who aren't fluent in English. a little WGU MBA review.... - rebel100 - 03-01-2013 sanantone Wrote:Call me crazy, but this thread has made WGU less appealing to me. Once you figure it out and sort of give yourself over to it...its not so bad. I'm convinced they use a grading key that is very closely tied to the rubric...follow the rubric and your gonna be close....try and be creative or chase after "rabbits" and you will get your work sent back. There is a pretty good amount of writing (as one would expect from a Masters). WGU was not my first choice. I would have liked to try UF's 1 year residence MBA....but it was never gonna happen, I just don't have the time nor the cash (assuming I could have gotten in ![]() I love WGU, its the right choice for me...it wouldn't be my first choice if circumstances were different. a little WGU MBA review.... - sanantone - 03-01-2013 I keep thinking, "Gee, I could possibly get an MBA in 6 months for less than $3500." But then I come back to this thread and change my mind. LOL. I'm sure that wasn't your intention. |
