RE: What's the impact of TESU downgrading Study.com? - jsd - 01-09-2018 We'll see what the evaluators say. TESU's left hand never knows what the right hand is doing. Remember the mess around advising not having any idea about the TECEP/Residency change? Basically, I'm not interested in what it is "currently" in the database as. How will evaluators look at it going forward, for people who completed it after 12/31? I would hang on to that email though! More of a solid case for an appeal ![]() RE: What's the impact of TESU downgrading Study.com? - dfrecore - 01-09-2018 Honestly, if I was going to be using Shmoop for my UL equivalencies, I would send them to TESU ASAP. It's better to finish them and get them to TESU and get them on your eval with the course equivalencies, then to hold them, and hope that they don't make any changes. RE: What's the impact of TESU downgrading Study.com? - rlw74 - 01-09-2018 It might be a good idea for anyone seeking these credit-alternative courses to send ACE transcripts frequently. I know it's $20 every time you order them but that's a heck of a lot cheaper than retaking courses or delaying graduation because something you expected to come in as UL came in as LL. We only found out about this change to these course equivalencies when someone tried to transfer them in and TESU downgraded them (before 12/31). Fortunately on appeal they decided to change the date to 12/31. But we never know until someone tries to transfer. RE: What's the impact of TESU downgrading Study.com? - Study.com - 01-10-2018 Hi All, We're not sure about other providers, but our transfer guide with TESU is as up to date as possible, which you can reference here: https://study.com/directory/school/Thomas_Edison_State_University.html#transferTab We're still working on bringing you more courses, including more upper levels that are ACE and/or NCCRS recommended for credit. Please email our great support team if you have specific questions, and we'll be happy to add additional clarity if you need it! Do you know if TESU has plans to evaluate the Leadership courses, any of the newer courses you've done recently? They are currently reviewing several of our courses, but we hope to have updates soon. However, this does not mean the courses will be approved for transfer, but we are working to give you all a diverse set of courses you can transfer in for your degrees! Like, do you go to TESU's website, look at a specific degree, and come up with courses for that degree? Or do you go based on requests? Just curious as to how you as a company are doing this? Sometimes it seems kind of random. It would be interesting to know, especially for those that want to work on specific degrees, like Accounting, English, Psych, etc. RE: What's the impact of TESU downgrading Study.com? - nashpond - 01-10-2018 (01-10-2018, 01:55 PM)Study.com Wrote: Hi All, I called TESU today to ask about Study.com Communications 120 as an option for the oral communication requirement, as someone mentioned recently on Degree Forum. They do not have Comm 120 in their system at all and the advisor I spoke to (didn't write down his name!) said that Study.com Communications 101 will no longer fulfill the requirement! He said lots of things changed this week. If I had known, I would have tried to get that in under the wire like my UL Psych courses. Any advice? RE: What's the impact of TESU downgrading Study.com? - Study.com - 01-10-2018 Hi All, We're working with TESU to figure this out as soon as we can, and we'll be sure to update you when we have a clear answer. As for choosing our courses, there are a variety of factors that go into play - courses that align with degrees, user requests, courses that fit in with transfer schools, current education trends, and current business goals. Hope this helps! Best, The Study.com Team |
