Yellowdig is a discussion board. For Health & Wellness, the requirement was an (ungraded) 250? word post each week + three 60? word replies to other people's posts every week. It's similar to, but not the same as, posting to the forum here.
Thanks, Rachel. Definitely leaning towards Sociology, even though the midterm & final are 50% of the score. The discussion board posts should be no problem. I see that "Content Mastery" is 20%. That's on the HST102 course as well, which she has just started. Do you have any guidance on that?

Sociology has been the easiest class that I've taken so far at ASU. The communications class was way tougher specially the final. The sociology class helped because some concepts from Sociology came up.
The sociology book that ASU uses is available for free if she wants to get started but we didn't read much of it.

It's really tough to tell because the ASU computer applications and IT is really more of a business class than an IT class in my opinion.

Content mastery is going to be Cerego Flashcards. There's no way to get less than 100% in that section unless you literally skip doing them a week.
Computer Applications and IT really is a business course, yes. Who knows what Pierpont will bring it in as. I'll find out eventually unless they suddenly decide to graduate me.

I am amused by the fact that ASU's programmers didn't take into account that students might actually take more classes than strictly required for admission into ASU. Considering how much ASU costs, if you knew about ASU EA it'd be stupid not to take advantage and complete as many courses as you can that will fit with your degree plan.

When I contacted them to trouble shoot an issue I was having about a year ago when I went to take a class they informed me I didn't need to take any EA classes since I was already admitted(since I'd attended in person in the past). I told them thanks but I'd rather take an EA class for now.

Sociology is not that difficult so long as you study hard and really know the material on the quizzes. The discussion board posts are very doable. They're graded on participation, not content. The Content Mastery is cerego module that basically repeats until you get all the questions right. That section is an automatic 100. The mid-term and final can get a little tricky with sorting out between social movements, social activism, conflict theorists, functionalists and trying to remember which answer about defying social norms are "the discredited" and which are some similar confusing term. You really gotta know term definitions.
There are a lot of classes in general I would say were "easy" that might not be easy to somebody else. I'm a natural auto-didact and have been accumulating knowledge for decades now. Things that seem obvious to me are not obvious to say, my 14 year old stepdaughter.
My stepdaughter also took it to get a head start on college. She made a 78 on her first go-round. She could easily have made a B but just got lazy (as many teens are wont to do including myself at that age) and missed doing a couple ceregos and didn't max out her discussion board posts. I talked her into redoing the class, so she built off what she did the first go-round and got an 85. We're happy with that result.
Sociology is very doable so long as you have the drive to put in the effort. The unit quizzes are open book. If you're willing to dig around for the answers you can get 100% or close to it on the unit quizzes. The cerego is 100% so long as you just do them, and the discussion board is 100% so long as you participate. And that's 3/4 of the battle.

I think this is the first ASU class I've seen that allows you to use notes on the final.
