Most schools also only allow a certain amount of credits from these tests, I have heard 15 is about average.Spazz, I ran into the same question with my school (traditional 4-year college). I called and spoke to my advisor and she told me their policy is if you fail a CLEP, it will not show up or adversely impact your transcript. CLEP credits are treated just like transfer credits, in that they do not affect your overall GPA. Therefore, a failed CLEP will just not transfer. My school allows 60 transfer credits, and up to 30 CLEP credits. However, the sum of the two cannot exceed the maximum 60 transfer credits i.e. if you have 30 CLEP credits, they will only accept 30 other transfer credits. Like you, I am also required to take the CLEPS on campus at my school's testing center, so they do have some level of control over the scores. Fortunately I have a great advisor who is very understanding of the challenges of going back to school after being in the work force for many years, and she is great to work with. That being said, I would recommend you ask your school, but being what I am assuming is a traditional school, they probably have similar policy. Hope This Helps...
