Considering the number of courses the OP completed at the state college, it would be a shame not to have all those courses listed on the transcript. Since the OP has taken those courses at another school, they are listed on THAT transcript, which is fine. You don't need all of your transcripts listed on ONE transcript (I mean, I guess it's handy, but not especially useful). Especially since it will show that the courses were transferred in, and that any other school that wants a transcript for some reason will want ALL transcripts. Yes, you would apply immediately, send in the current transcripts and start getting the missing courses on CLEP/Study.com. The last month to start the capstone for Dec graduation would be August. The graduation application deadline would be Oct 1 and the deadline to get the last transcripts in would be Nov 1. I'd probably start the cornerstone in July, then the capstone in August, but you could do both together in August, which would give them 2 solid months to get the alt credits done before starting the capstone. https://www.tesu.edu/current-students/graduation-information RE: 130+ credits and no degree, help me graduate! - origamishuttle - 05-26-2023 (05-21-2023, 03:20 PM)LevelUP Wrote:(05-21-2023, 08:34 AM)origamishuttle Wrote: It's work that I would much rather do than battle with the cornerstone and capstone at TESU! Thank you, this is a great explanation. I agree that the timeline is very achievable, especially with offset cornerstone/capstone. RE: 130+ credits and no degree, help me graduate! - smdeox - 05-30-2023 Thank you all SO SO SO much. I'm still here, just had a family vacation and based on the advice of this forum I went ahead and applied to both UMPI and TESU (With WGU still being an option---and to answer a question that came up, I don't mind the learning style of WGU or anything else really, I'm flexible!) I just want to get this done. ![]() Those 3 schools seem like the best bet, so I've narrowed it down to that. I actually got the TESU evaluation back today, so I'd like to share and see if there's any courses they may have missed that I should have credit for. For TESU BA Comp SCI(Please let me know if there is an easier way to share this---screenshots maybe?): 97/120 hours completed MISSING: General Education -Written Communication 3SH -Information Literacy 3SH Computer Science -Programming 3SH COS-1110 Introduction to Programming I'm going to make a note here and say I'm quite surprised I don't have this req completed. I've taken Scripting and Programming Foundations, and Scripting and Programming Applications at WGU, but they transferred in as different courses at TESU. Is it worth asking them about? -Operating Systems 3SH -Computer Architecture 3SH AOS Electives 18SH 6 hours completed (Network and security foundations, Data management applications) 12 additional hours needed (I think these need to be UL?) Liberal Arts Capstone (3SH) I'd like to do an evaluation for the BSBA/CIS, and finance as well but I'm not seeing that option in the transcript evaluation. I see a: -General Management BS(I'm 87/120 for that) -BSBA in Finance(85/120) -BLS-BA Comp sci(114/120) -BSBA in Accounting(85/120) -BS Computer information systems(97/120) *Note:If I'm this close to the BSBA in MIS/Finance, I think it makes sense to do it, but the primary tech degree would be the focus. I would like to do both though if I go the TESU route. Thanks again for all your help, I appreciate all the responses and help trying to plan this out. I'm new to this, and having experts like you all is AMAZING. RE: 130+ credits and no degree, help me graduate! - dfrecore - 05-30-2023 It's actually better if you tell us what things came in as, so that we can tell you if you need to move anything around, or we have more info. If you list the courses from the first post, and then what TESU considers those next to each course, that would be awesome. Highlight the course numbers (LLL-NNNN) in red, or bold, or something so they stand out. RE: 130+ credits and no degree, help me graduate! - smdeox - 05-31-2023 Great idea, thanks for the tip! I've tried to group them so it's a bit easier to read(Based on the BA in CS). Are there any courses that I should appeal? Also, very interested in the BSBA(CIS) or BSBA in Finance as well, or honestly any other recommendations that you all have. 1. Since you didn't do this in the same order, it's impossible for me to figure out. None of the numbers you have on here match up with the courses from the first post, so I'm lost. Sorry, can't help. RE: 130+ credits and no degree, help me graduate! - bjcheung77 - 05-31-2023 @smdeox, Wait for all your evaluations to come through. If you're not too busy and have some time to get screenshots of your evaluation (without your personal details), you may want to screenshot the entire evaluation with the notes/other courses (again, everything except your personal details). Have each evaluation saved to your one drive or google drive and link us to them, after reviewing the details, we can provide you comments on getting the remaining courses... |
