Not ideal at all, but I guess it's an option. I would be irate though if a job was on the line and this was the only thing holding me back. Not knowing this ahead of time prevented him from finishing on his original schedule and, maybe not in this case, but for other courses might have been the difference between enrolling in Class A or Class B if there were multiple options. The school should address a permanent fix for future students.
