Credit transfer necessary via ACE?? - sekiflying - 11-21-2016

Thank you for your quick reply
The last one I meant CSU Global Competency-Based Exam.

I just figured out the ACE fees are based on transcripts, not courses(which I though).:roflol:

So my question is not important anymore

Gotcha. If anyone else was wondering, CSU Global CBEs would come on a CSU Global transcript.

Credit transfer necessary via ACE?? - Synicaal - 11-21-2016

This is really the only downfall to doing a degree this way. I did the math and to send all my transcripts to TESU when I apply later next month is going to cost me

HVCC - $0
ACE - $20 - Then an Additional $15 when I add the rest of my credits
CLEP - $20 - Anything I take after this will be sent in directly
TESU - $15 - sent to SCCC to take a final course at SCCC. Then additional copies to have on hand for Canvass Letter purposes.
SCCC - $15

Total Transcript cost - $120 Min - That's a CLEP exam or almost a SL course more then half a study.com month. But then again the money saved using ACE credits more then makes up for the extra transcript costs.

Do TESU need residency fee for second Bachelor Degree? - sekiflying - 11-25-2016

Do TESU need residency fee($2000) for the second/ third Bachelor Degree?

Do TESU need residency fee for second Bachelor Degree? - jsd - 11-25-2016

I don't know for certain, but I can't imagine they'd waive the fee. Not in their best interest to do so.

Also, TESU doesn't award 3rd bachelor degrees. They cap you at 2

Do TESU need residency fee for second Bachelor Degree? - dfrecore - 11-26-2016

There has been conflicting info on here about that from TESU. One person said that you only pay the residency fee once, and someone else said you pay it the second time if your second degree is more than a year after the first degree.

I would contact TESU directly to find out.

If you haven't received your first degree yet, you might want to take a double major rather than take the chance.

Do TESU need residency fee for second Bachelor Degree? - sekiflying - 12-03-2016

Thank you for the important information about 2 degrees cap and the Double major way.

I already sent an email to TESU to confirm the issue, I will post the respone when I get it.

Answer From TESU
Quote:The University does not award third Bachelor's degrees. However, if you wish to earn a second degree after the completion of your BSBA, you will be subject to the second degree policy which states,

1. Students must complete a minimum of 12 additional NEW credits in the option for a second associate degree and 24 additional NEW credits in the area of study/core for a second baccalaureate degree beyond the date all prior degrees were completed.
2. Students must select an option which is significantly different from their previous degree(s).
3. Students must complete all requirements for the degree as listed in the current Thomas Edison State University Catalog.
4. The University will not award a third baccalaureate degree.

Also, while pursuing the second degree, if you do not meet the 16 credit residency required under the Per Credit Tuition plan, you will need to pay the Residency Waiver Fee.

Do TESU need residency fee for second Bachelor Degree? - dfrecore - 12-05-2016

This is the THIRD conflicting report! The first said that the residency waiver would last a year, and the second said that it would last longer than a year. This one is saying that it doesn't even last a year! That's crazy. TESU cannot get their act together! If I wasn't already enrolled and so close to graduation, I wouldn't go there. It's ridiculous!

I wouldn't say that this conflicts. The other reports were about getting a bachelor's after an associate's, not getting a second bachelor's degree.
