Now that I think about it, Angelo State University (Texas) neither sent me a cover nor a transcript.

Okies, I have to chill out afterall as it seems I am not the only one earning a degree without transcript. I had thought it was a "human oversight" but from what I have gathered here, it is normal and not unheard of. I am still awaiting Patten's response to my email anyway - it will be nice to have them mail me the transcript and cover anyway.

By the way, Patten no longer provides free transcripts. Once my "congratulations graduate" mail came in, I was provided with Patten University transcript Request Service provider link where I could order for my transcript at $10.50. I remember ordering a free transcript to be sent to a school in the US while I was still about 4 classes away from completing my program. Now, it appears they no longer offer free transcripts - at least I have no access to my account anymore where I could order for a free transcript and all I have left is the Exchange Parchment service

Congrats on completing your degree! If I remember correctly, Parchment allows electronic delivery--this means you can order your transcript, have it sent to your e-mail, and print it out yourself within minutes (it's the same one that they mail you).

I agree that I could order for an electronic or paper transcript, but since I am used to getting free transcripts upon graduating, I wondered why I had to pay for one. Of course I won't have a choice but to pay for one if Patten replies with a NO.

This still just seems so off to me. After all the money you spend with them and they can't give you a "free" transcript. I have graduated 4 times now and I've always gotten a free transcript when my diploma came in the mail.

Congrats Saharapost! When I received by AS from COSC I didn't receive a padded course or transcript either. However, I can login to the website and print and unofficial transcript.

Yes, you pay a "graduation fee" and it doesn't include a transcript! What exactly does that include then???

You can request unlimited free, official transcripts from Patten, folks. I didn't even graduate with them and I had an official one sent to me when I requested one for TESU as well.

I also did request a free transcript to be sent to TESU when I was few classes away from graduating, but now it appears that option is no more. They direct you to the parchment exchange website when you need a transcript.
