Okay, so, I took this exam today. As feared, could not do copy/paste during the exam. That part was brutal. I kept having to manually retype things when I wanted to reorganize paragraphs. Thankfully, I had jotted down the thesis on paper, so I could retype that. But I wasn't happy about it.

The references section had some really oddball references. I didn't try to use Purdue Owl and made do with my copy of "The Bedford Guide for College Writers". I'm not entirely confident that I did that part correctly. There was a website with no date and a magazine which I wasn't completely sure which part was supposed to be the reference. There were two potential articles, but the instructions said 4 references, not 5.

I'm just crossing fingers that I was able to pass. It's not a difficult exam, I just have a hard time writing under pressure and without even copy/paste.

I just checked my account, and I did pass (apparently with a score of 92%). I did literally no study, and I would have preferred a handbook with a bigger section covering citations, but the MLA handbook I tried to order wasn't going to have arrived by the time I wanted to take the TECEP.

I forgot in my previous post that the browser did put red underlines beneath incorrectly spelled words. This was a great help. I had a small dictionary, but not all words were in my dictionary. Thanks to the red underlines, I was able to see which words were incorrectly spelled and could either try again or else use a synonym/different phrasing entirely.

Great job in getting that TECEP done! I usually recommend reviewing something before the exam and study that material, or even preparing with a corresponding CLEP/MS Class by powering through that quickly. What one can do is spend a few hours up to a couple of days or so, just to review things on the mentioned in the TECEP pdf...

It's kind of difficult to study for this TECEP, IMO. Either you can write a paper or you cannot. The rest is stuff you need to look up in your handbook. The best "study" for this TECEP is probably to complete the Sophia English Comp I class. That'll get you the basics of paper writing. Then use your writing handbook to ensure that the citations are as correct as they can be.
