rebel100 Wrote:Well, maybe, maybe not...but the job is definitely changing.

I was told Friday that IF my job survives the takeover it will be drastically changed. Last year my employer was purchased by a larger healthcare system. The work I do in Emergency Management will likely soon be taken over by a corporate division and the employees that report to me will be moving as well. My supervisor is trying to re-write my job and keep me on, but I'm less than excited about the new role.

I'm having a hard time even getting responses on applications and sent out resume's (I've been watching this come for a while now and tried to act proactively...but no luck yet). Even with years of experience and the MBA (pursuing) on the resume seems to matter very little. I'm not depressed...yet...but this is starting to feel like a tight spot. Smile

How goes the job hunt for you guys? Anybody need an Emergency Manager or Paramedic? Smile

Check out PPL Corporation more specifically the link https://jobs.pplweb.com/psc/PS1/EMPLOYEE/HRMS/c/HRS_HRAM.HRS_CE.GBL

Not too sure if working at a nuclear power plant matches up with what you are experienced with, but your credentials seem to match up for what my company is looking for, not to mention that job has been up for over 3 months now...

Let me know if I can help out in any other way.

Not sure if you're still looking or open to relocation, but glancing at postings last night, there are quite a few Env, Health & Safety Coordinator positions open in the Mobile, AL area. I just got an email from LinkedIn with 3, and there were 5 or 6 on Indeed.com last night. You've mentioned family in the general area. The posted wage level appears to be pretty decent for the area, and cost of living is reasonably low for being so close to the coast. Just wanted to share in case it's a consideration!

I expect to be unemployed on 01 Aug 2017 which is the earliest day I can retire from where I work. I will be 55 (and a month) and have 30 years with the company. I am working on being able to do something else by then, what it is I don't know yet.

Having that degree will "check the box" on at least some of the job application requirements. I wish you all the best, it's brutal out there!!

Wow, a month after I wrote this my Boss went out on a serious medical and I started running the department. Things can change in a flash!

Interview went well, one more internal candidate claims to have applied and never got an interview, they are letting him go on Monday, I expect to know next week.

Can't confirm nor deny. Wink

Seriously....I wish him a speedy recovery, he is facing a potentially fatal illness with courage and optimism, he's in a tough spot.
