How many total modules does that statistics course have and how long did it take you to get to 70 percent?

The Intro to Statistics has 116 topics and my course mastery was 85 out of 116 ( 73%).

In regards to the length of time it took me, I might not be the best case study.

I originally started out in the Behavioral Sci Stats course on 12/19/08 then switched to Bus. Stats on 12/25/08 and changed again to Intro Stats on 1/5/09. So that course took me from 1/5 - 1/11/09 to complete but the information from the other 2 course helped me have an original assessment in the intro stats course of 56 %. When I started out in the Behavioral Sci Stat's I had a zero assessment.

The reason I switched is I was trying to find the one that I felt I could reach the 70 % assessment in within the first 30 days so that I did not have to pay for a second month.

As long as you reached 70% assessed you should be all set.

My Beginning Algebra course was approved after just the first assesment at 74%. This is great! I wish I had paid attention to this thread months ago. It would have saved me lots of $$ in 2 failed Clep Math exams, study guides, and the straighterline course. Oh well, live and learn. Cool

Ok....I've been working on College Algebra + Trig for about a week now. I'm only at 57/265 modules.

Can anyone confirm that TESC accepts Beginning Algebra for the 3 math credits? I am thinking of switching to that if they do...I could probably finish it up faster.

Thanks!

I read in a post earlier that TESC does not accept Beginning Algebra, just Intermediate on up - however, I would verify it with the school for sure. I am still waiting to hear back from Excelsior that they will take beginning algebra even though I read on here that someone else submitted it and it was accepted.

I am trying to make a decision between taking the CLEP Precalculus exam or taking Pre-Cal from ALEKS. I think that I would easily choose ALEKS if it were not for one thing: Will my ALEKS credits still transfer to TESC or any other college after January 2010? I will be enrolling in TESC probably some time in 2009, but what if my plans change, and I do not enroll until 2010? Then all of my ALEKS transfer credits will be lost?

I am thinking that the safer way would be to just try to pass the CLEP, even though I am pretty nervous about it. I just don't want to lose my ALEKS credits after January 2010. Sad

Nope, intro to Stats was categorised as Lower Level.

Zefrench,

Any idea why they did not post them as Upper Level ?

As the Introduction to Statistics (Alek-0007) ACE review says :Credit Recommendation: In the upper division baccalaureate degree category, 3 semester hours in introduction to statistics or theory of probability (1/07).

That was kind of contradictory in itself, 3 upper level semester hours in "INTRODUCTION to statistics." That is probably why.
