Since I don't graduate until 20 Feb 09, this little process is free from Excelsior.>> Awsome suggestion!!! Might as well do it while you can....cuz we know how easy (not) it is to learn higher math when we have been away from high school math for years LOL Credit for ALEKS Corp (McGraw Hill) Online courses in College Algebra & Statistics - norema - 12-13-2008 I'm new to this Aleks program. Can anyone tell me how Excelsior transfer these courses? Are the suggested upper level courses given credit as such? Are any of the courses especially the college algebra, trigonometry and college algebra with trigonometry as well as any of the statistic courses duplicate according to Excelsior? What order would be best to take these courses since they more than likely have a lot of crossover? How are these transcribed, meaning is Business Statistics documented as an upper level business course or as an upper level arts and science course like the rest of them? Please list and answer any more information I might have missed to ask. I asked an EC advisor that same question and they said Business Statistics would be counted as arts and sciences, though they of course had no idea what ALEKS was. I would also be interested to see how this course was transcribed for anyone here. I would be surprised if it didn't count as upper level though, since EC almost always goes by the ACE recommendation. After TESC transcripted my Business Stats course as an UL Business course, I decided not to argue with them and just take the ALEKS Intro to Stats course to fulfill requirements for both my in-progress BA/Psych and planned BSBA Gen Mgmt. Yesterday evening I finally got around to starting the Intro to Stats course, and hit 69% complete on the initial course assessment. Today, I went back into the course, did a couple of modules as refreshers, requested another assessment, and hit 78% complete. I then immediately logged out of ALEKS, logged into ACE, and submitted the course as complete. Went to grab a drink, came back a few minutes later, refreshed the ACE screen, and found that ALEKS had already approved the course - in less than 5 minutes from submission! So, in less than 24 hours, 3 more credits and a math requirement complete! :-) Gotta love the ALEKS corp's fantastic level of customer service - it's so rare nowadays.... - Lia Credit for ALEKS Corp (McGraw Hill) Online courses in College Algebra & Statistics - swisha2k - 12-19-2008 lwmcc Wrote:ALEKS sooooo rocks, just gotta share!!! If you have any days left on your subscription, could you take the Stats for Behavioral Sciences assessment? I want to see if a) there is enough overlap to pull off another 3 credits and b) if TESC will take a third stats without duplication of credit. Pretty please???? ![]() |
