passit1 Wrote:Resubmitted task 4 of the capstone yesterday - praying to the gods of academia that it passes this time. The burnout is getting really tough between the job/school/family. Hubby has stepped up and is doing almost all of the parenting & housework while I struggle with school & work.

Task 5 is almost done - it is a multimedia presentation about what I've learned from the MBA program, task 4 and how I'll be applying these concepts to future professional development. Powerpoint and speaker notes are done. Going home to record myself presenting it now and then I'll upload it.

The MBA work is hindering my ability to catch on at my new job the way I need to. There is no time for data analysis or thinking about improvements while running shift, it's just too busy. Days off are full of MBA homework so I don't have my analysis and information for meetings at work and the managers I report to are wondering what's up. Bit off far more than I can chew and need this MBA stuff done and gone ASAP.

If you were to do this differently, would you have postponed the capstone or maybe the entire MBA? To me, family and work are more important than school. Are you at-risk of being let go at your job?

Almost done! Almost done! It will all be behind you soon. When this stuff is over you will never have to do this again! Hopefully. It is so impressive the way you have got it all done! You are very fortunate that you have your husband to help out with the rest of life. I think you are a super smart girl doing it the way you did. Almost done Dina!

TrailRunr - I'm not in immediate danger of losing the job, but I need to get on point soon. If I would have done this differently, I would have listened to people who told me to stay at my old job while finishing school. I think this situation is teaching me what is important, to listen to others, and the kind of person I really am. My whole career I played things safe and thought I needed to take a risk now to see what I could do. Moving forward, I am going to listen to others and consider what the real outcomes will be before jumping in.

I'd readjust the priorities. The MBA isn't on a time clock except your own. Keep working on it, but give the job more of a priority. So what if the MBA takes an extra 3 weeks because of it?

I've already decided not to freak it they come back needing revisions and I'm not going to stalk Taskstream to see what position in queue they are. Gonna drop off my little girl at her besties house for a sleepover tonight and spend a nice date night with the hubby. Tomorrow I can look over some numbers and strategy for work to be ready for shift on Sunday.

If revisions need to be made I can do them next Thur, Fri & Sat on my days off - can't go camping next week anyway since someone rear ended my hubby and destroyed the hitch we put on 2 weeks ago for the new camper we bought. Deep breaths....so I'm stressed cause I have a job, gonna have an MBA by the end of the month and can't use my new camper.....guess this sums me up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwvlbJ0h35A

Thank you for the encouragement ! I can't put off finishing these last 2 assignments because if I'm not done by August I need to pay for another semester and can't really afford it.

But task 4 met requirements!

Passit1,

While I didn't look at the vid, it must be on champagne problems! You're doing well in class, you have a job that interests you, you have your family, and you have your health.

You've taken on a lot, but I know that you can do this. You're learning about yourself and about pushing your limits as much as you're learning about operations management, etc. You know that your cheering squad is here, and wishing you all the best.

Last task is position 18 in queue waiting to be graded....
