What's the LONGEST that you've studied for a clep/dsst? - marianc. - 12-01-2008 Civil War & Reconstruction . I took my sweet time and studied for about 5 weeks. I enjoyed studying for that one, but felt unconfident when I heard how specific the exam was. Passed, but with a disappointing score. Nothing else, even other history exams, took me that long to prep for. What's the LONGEST that you've studied for a clep/dsst? - lovetheduns - 12-02-2008 The World Religions Dantes exam-- I spent about maye 16-20 hours studying for it. Basically, I took one weekend and then quickly went through IC notes the day before the exam. I took one Saturday and Sunday to really go through a religion textbook (one of the textbooks the exam referenced) and IC. I am a miserable studier-- I will admit to that. I have never really studied extensively for anything-- I would not advise it for everyone-- I think I have good test taking skills and I am able to remember lots of information for the most part. What's the LONGEST that you've studied for a clep/dsst? - lovetheduns - 12-12-2008 I came back to this topic and I was thinking about it.. I think you should not ask about time as measured in weeks or days, but rather hours. In other words, I studied about 16-20 hours for the world religions exam-- I studied that in about 2-3 days. 16-20 hours-- could be 3 weeks for some and 2 days for others. i think it would give a more accurate viewpoint. Im just glad it's over. Congratulations on your pass! All that studying paid off well. My longest was nine weeks for GRE Psych, but excluding that, it was almost three weeks for DSST Civil War & Reconstruction. That one was tough! I usually keep my study time around 25-30 hours a week, and most exams get one or two weeks of study. What's the LONGEST that you've studied for a clep/dsst? - Sunshine - 12-14-2008 I've been studying for the Biology and Natural Science CLEPS for more than a month. Only studied about 10 hours a week though. I haven't taken any Bio classes, so it's completely new material for me (and it's taking a while to sink in!). Besides those, I try to devote 2 to 3 weeks (15-20 hours per week) of study per exam. |
