RE: Path for - Com Sci Masters then Doc - OtterDen - 07-05-2024 There is no any program that is cheaper and higher rank than Georgia Tech's OMSCS. The quality of OMSCS is one of the best, especially Prof. Joyners courses. Georgia Tech is one of the highest ranked CS school in the world. Quote:Computer Science ranks #6 by U.S. News & World Report's Undergraduate Program Rankings, #7 by U.S. News & World Report's Graduate School Rankings, #17 by Times Higher Education World University Rankings, and #28 in The Guardian's QS World University Rankings. Please check their subreddit for more details. But the program is known for its difficulty and workload. I recommend your daughter to take only one course per semester on the first one or two semesters. This will help her to adapt to the difficulty and workload. Good luck to your daughter. She is very impressive. I was here about 18 months ago seeking advice for my daughter and it made a world of difference. Thus now at the next stage in her journey, I am back to explore options. GT's OMSCS is made for your daughter. Look, with education inflation a master's degree in 2024 is equivalent to a second bachelor's degree prior to covid (in your daughter's case, 2nd RA bachleor's, 3rd bachelor's overall). If her goal is PhD and research she definitely needs this second CS bachelor's aka Georgia Tech OMSCS. Usually apply to your top two choices and a third for a backup option... |
