Also in order to keep your full pell grant, you need to take 4 classes, not 2. For YourPace there's no 60% date. It's pass or fail. I'd recommend just asking Jessica to swap to easier classes. Just knock out 4 easy classes and be done.

If you do the date calculations, 60% for term 1 will be Saturday February 17, 2024.

For term 2 it will be: Friday April 14, 2023.

You took and agreed to a pell grant for two terms, which are separate in Pell disbursements, but UMPI gives it to you together. If you fail all 4 of your classes, you will never be allowed to receive federal financial aid again.

As you got a refund you are a full-time student, and your Pell was calculated to you agreeing to it full time.

While today you are saying you will never use financial aid ever again, this isn't something you can possibly know. You may need a college degree in the future. Take ashkir's advice and switch to easier classes - shorter papers, exams, something other than a 10 page paper.

I agree, switch to the 2 easiest possible courses for this term, and then 2 easy ones for next term. Something that requires a VERY short paper or even just an exam.

How can I earn 100% of my Title IV aid?
Quote:There are three ways to "earn" 100% of your disbursed Title IV aid:

  1. Receive a passing grade in at least 1 class for the semester; or
  2. Attend class through 60% of the semester, and then officially drop all classes. These are called "Official Withdrawals."
  3. If you do not pass any of your classes, at least one last day of attendance is beyond the 60% date. Last day of attendance for non-passing grades are supplied by your instructor. These are called "Unofficial Withdrawals."

This is what I am referring to. The issue at UMPI YourPace being, they break up the semester into two sessions, so I don’t know what bearing that has on the 60% rule or what date that means.

For example, on March 1 I drop both classes, that’s well beyond 60% of the session, but not the semester (which would be April for 60%). So the dates are not clear nor how it works with this session methodology.

I didn’t know that would be a possibility but seems to be the best alternative. I’ll email Jessica to ask. I thought it would need to be done by the add/drop date which I believe has already come and gone.

The drop/add date you see applies to the on campus students. YourPace has it's own schedule which you should have received via email from Cody when the session began.
