I think it's a matter of personal preference. Some people frame and hang their degrees up. They're proud of their accomplishment and want to be able to see it.
You can still hang it and be proud regardless of whether it includes the major/minor/concentration.
Well no kidding that you can still hang up the diploma. Some people would just like it to list all of their accomplishments. Everyone doesn't stick it in a folder and put it in a desk or box for years.
