There is a lot they don't understand about the YourPace program. I called the 844 number. Do they enroll you even without receiving your transcripts? I've just checked with my university about getting my transcript and it's going to be a few weeks because they aren't emailing them anymore and are backed up. I guess they can enroll me but I'm not paying them any money until I'm sure I'm clear on what I'm getting myself into. Hopefully, the academic advisor will be helpful. What does having access to the MaineStreet account give me if I haven't paid them for anything? By calling the 844 number you're speaking to a third party enrollment counselor not an UMPI employee. You can't be accepted without transcripts. UMPI has to receive all of your transcripts before they can process your application. You don't pay the tuition bill until a few days before the session starts. There's no bill without signing up for courses except for the deposit which most YourPace students don't have to pay. MaineStreet is your student account. You'll see how your transcripts were processed in there. What degree program you're in. What courses you've completed. Your grades. Finances such as the tuition and payments made. ETA: You may want to call UMPI Admissions directly to confirm what was told you by the enrollment specialists. You'll want to let admissions know that you are applying to the YourPace program. They are only open during normal business hours in the Eastern time zone. Thank you for this additional information. I'm definitely going to give UMPI admissions (the 207#) a call tomorrow and confirm the information I received today. They might also be able to answer a couple of questions the enrollment specialist couldn't. Staying optimistic this will be a good option for me. :-) RE: Transfer Credits from Canadian BSc - StudiousTraveller - 03-30-2022 @ss20ts - I spoke to UMPI admissions (207#) today and they were very helpful. Thanks for suggesting I call them too. I got all my questions answered and feel good about continuing with UMPI now. The admissions department is definitely more knowledgable than the enrollment counselors. Good luck with your degree! Going to check out the new payment options for Sophia this afternoon and get started with one of their history courses that I'll end up needing since I avoided history classes like the plague during my first degree but now love learning about it! Isn't it funny how we avoid classes like the plague in our younger years and then that's all we're interested in learning? Same thing happened to me. I look back and wonder what changed. |
