I haven't seen anyone else on these forums mention it either, and we've all had questions about getting this added. It would be great if this works. I wonder how long this page has ben up...

Well the bad news is that after I submitted that form, I got an out-of-office from Roxanne Andrew @ FEMA, who as recently as December told me she can't help with Credly badges for the NFA courses.

So I imagine once she's back in office I'll get a similar response from her.

Have the classes expired? I have some FEMA classes and mine have expiration dates.

Being a Sunday I imagine few governmental office workers are working. Add on tomorrow being a federal holiday and I imagine even less are working.

I believe they have long since expired. But they were active when I and the old timers on this forum took them, so they should still be able to be added on our transcripts.

I'm not concerned that she's out of office, I wouldn't expect her to be working today or tomorrow, or even hear back from her right away once she's in. My concern is that I've already talked to her, and she hasn't been helpful.

FEMA credits have been notoriously difficult. Few schools give credit for them today. EC does but you have to pay for each credit.....totally not worth it with them. I get it. I have 4 FEMA classes I completed when I took an emergency management course. They're on my LinkedIn account....seems to be all that they're worth unless I worked for the government or job that would accept them as something like continuing ed.

The NFA credits through FEMA are totally different than the FEMA credits you are referring to. These were well before your time on this board so it would make sense that you missed these credits, but they were quick and free online credits that were on an ACE transcript that the Big 3 accepted without the hassle of the FEMA credits you're referring to.

EC has been charging for FEMA credits for years. It seems like none of the Big 3 have been accepting them easily for many years. COSC and TESU haven't accepted them in awhile.

My FEMA credits were free and quick as well. Even some of mine have expired. There are also courses that were replaced or just disappeared.

There are still some ACE FEMA credits available. It's too bad so many went the way of the dodo bird.

All you are saying is true, but we're talking about two different things. That they're both related to FEMA has confused this, but the NFA courses we're talking about were accepted on an ACE transcript by TESU/Big 3 up until around 2018 when their ACE recommendation expired.  They're different than what Excelsior still accepts (TESU used to accept those as well, but stopped way back. Even when they still accepted NFA).

If the ACE credits are expired would they still be accepted when applying today? I'm guessing this may depend on the school and 100,000 policies.

Like Schmoop isn't accepted anywhere really nowadays. They've all expired as well.

ACE courses that are on your ACE/Credly transcript are still good - no matter if they're expired or expire in the future.  If they were current courses at the time you took them, that's what counts.  It's why they have the course completion date on them.  They can also change over time, so a school can look them up in the ACE National Guide to see what the course was worth when you completed it.  For instance, the A&I Lit CLEP used to be worth 6cr, from 3/1/1996-2/28/2015, then it became worth 3cr.  The Vietnam War DSST exam was UL from 11/1/2013-7/31/2018, then changed to LL.

This worked! Thank you so much.

I'm starting a new thread about this because there are a lot of us for whom these credits had just been "lost" for, so I don't want this to get too buried in this thread.

I'm guessing you won't get these on Credly since I don't think this organization exists any longer?

The Institutes - Ethics and the CPCU Code of Profess AICP-0121 CR 2
You for sure won't get this onto Credly

Kaplan Uni Open Learning - Documenting Your Experiences KUOL-0001 CR 3
I have these courses, I could never get ahold of someone to get this onto Credly (they've since been sold)

NFA
Fire Service Supervision: Self Study NNFA-0145 CR 1
Hydraulic Calculations for Water-Based NNFA-0203 CR 1
Self-Study Course for Community Safety NNFA-0149 CR 1
Not sure if you can get these on Credly, I haven't heard that anyone has.

TEEX
These should get to Credly

With very little RA credit and ~37cr of ACE, it looks like EC is your best option out of the Big 3 (I think it works out to be about the same price as COSC after getting the RA credit you'll need there).  Cost at EC will be ~$4000 for 7cr.

The other cheapest option is UMPI, which will probably be ~ $2800-$4200 for 2-3 terms there, which is what most people here seem to be doing (so no guarantees, but this is what the vast majority have been able to do without killing themselves in the process; so it's just very doable for most).

If you want to do competency-based, do UMPI's BLS with whatever minor you choose; if you don't want CBE, then do EC's BSL.  Both are very flexible and manageable (very easy to find the UL credits you need for EC).
Thank you,

I sent many emails in the last three days:

I received credit for my:
Kaplan University Open Learning
Documenting Your Experiences KUOL-0001 CR 3.
The badge is on my Credly dashboard.
It is owned by Purdue University Global. They were kind and responsive to the many emails I sent.

Let's not give up so easily.

I'll look at UMPI today.

Thank you so much for your help.
