Thankfully, he was in the group whose symptoms were alleviated after vaccination. It's bizarre how differently the virus presents across people. I wonder if they've been able to figure out rates of long covid for people who were not hospitalized, since I know a couple people who fit that category. I would guess that it's lower since the initial diseases presumably less severe, though that's just a guess. RE: Covid Update - rachel83az - 12-23-2021 From what I've seen, there are indications that Long Covid may actually be worse in people who haven't been hospitalized and who had only "mild" symptoms. But it's hard to tell because at least some of these people may not even know that they were sick in the first place and may be blaming their brain fog & other Long Covid symptoms on stress and other factors. The email, to Dr Anthony Fauci and Dr Francis Collins of the US National Institutes of Health, went on to say that such evolution may have “accidentally created a virus primed for rapid transmission between humans”. In the emails, Sir Jeremy said that other scientists also believed the virus could not have evolved naturally. One such scientist was Professor Mike Farzan, of Scripps Research, the expert who discovered how the original Sars virus binds to human cells. An email from Dr Ron Fouchier to Sir Jeremy said: “Further debate about such accusations would unnecessarily distract top researchers from their active duties and do unnecessary harm to science in general and science in China in particular.” Viscount Ridley, co-author of Viral: the search for the origin of Covid, said: “These emails show a lamentable lack of openness and transparency among Western scientists who appear to have been more interested in shutting down a hypothesis they thought was very plausible, for political reasons.” RE: Covid Update - LevelUP - 01-13-2022 Supreme Court blocks Biden OSHA vaccine mandate https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/supreme-court-biden-vaccine-mandates-osha-health-care-workers RE: Covid Update - Alpha - 01-21-2022 This is a story about a new covid testing innovation coming out of Yale University https://www.wtnh.com/news/connecticut/new-haven/yale-university-researchers-create-wearable-clip-that-detects-sars-cov-2-exposure/ |
