New and need advise!! - will2k - 01-14-2008 I just got off the phone with TESC representative & Financial aid, what a releif that I can get out of UoP and not disturb my financial aid or Loan. Hey thanks to everyone that gave me some motivation to look through and see that it shouldnt cost me 60K to get my degree rather then 5K or less. Thanks everyone I will keep you posted on things, Oh I also found a Test station where they will let me test as many CLEPs/DANTES that I want to. This is awesome!! I cant wait for everything to go through!! Comprehensive is $6150 and includes tuition, you just need the "a la carte" option for $2397. That's the enrollment fee if you are testing out of everything and don't want to pre-pay tuition (I think the $6150 includes 30 credits? Cookderosa would know for sure) New and need advise!! - will2k - 01-15-2008 oh ok, thats still cheaper then UoP though. Should I enroll or would you wait until your done Testing? where can I get a plan on what I need to fulfill my BS in international business? what test compare to classes? why does everyone take liberal Arts? is it because you can basically test out of thw whole degree?!?! IMO Most people do Liberal Arts because it's more general, so classes/testing can be done quicker. There is no direct plan for the BS in International Business, but you want to go to TESC's site and look at their catalog. It lists requirements. You can also get to it on their site directly. I'm majoring in English and some of the requirements I just can't test out of- I have previous English Credits (18 credits' worth) and am taking classes as well as testing. I did my own degree plan- I looked at what I needed and worked around it and came up with my own plan, because I'm not paying the enrollment fee until I have 90+ credits. I'm waiting to enroll because for me personally it makes more sense. BMGuinness did a list of what tests TESC takes. Put TESC in for the search term here on the site and it will pull up a post called "Exams for the Big 3" or something like that. New and need advise!! - larry7crys - 01-15-2008 I would enroll, wait or ask which exams to take, schedule to take them, and start testing. I started testing a while back, before enrolling and still am taking exams before I get my plan. The test results are sent to the school (if you pass) and they can update it then and there. I would look into CLEP/DSST exams on Money,Banking, Finance, Economics (micro/macro). Liberal Arts is a good place to start and yes, one could test out of the majority of it. New and need advise!! - will2k - 01-15-2008 All, So I requested to have my transcripts sent to TESC, so now I am waiting... in the meantime I would like to Test out some classes. from my understanding I will also have abuot 6 months to have FREE time to test... I want to get a BS in business (general Management) or BS International Business I want to test in this order: Principles of Management Priniciples of Supervision Intro to computing Intro to Business Hereâs to your health Drug and Alcohol abuse Principles of Marketing and so forth.... Will any of these double over and not be used through TESC according to my Degree... or if one takes double will it just be put down as Electives. any help would be greatly appreicated, I plan my first test next tuesday 01/22 |
