Both ALEKS statistics courses have come in the same to TESU (they duplicate) in the past, I don't recall them coming in as UL. dfrecore or another may have the last known equivalent.

All 3 Stats courses come in as STA-201. I've actually never seen it reported here that a Stats course, even it it was UL at an RA school, come in as anything other than that.

That makes it a bit less appealing, but might still be worth trying out stats again.

I did not think it was the best way to learn math at all, I think it's hard, especially for someone who might not learn visually - that's where a Khan Academy or Study.com comes in (and I prefer Khan as it's free, to actually learn the material).
But it's certainly nice to not have timed tests, and to be able to work on it from home to get college credit.

I didn't mean to imply that it was easy... it certainly is not. But, at least to me as a dyscalculic with math anxiety, it felt very intuitive and allowed me to grasp math concepts that had escaped me via other learning methods. It also helped me to reinforce the earlier math skills better than anything else I've tried so far. Of course, everyone learns in their own way, so YMMV.

I need this class to graduate and hope ALEKS will be better for me than study.com.
Can anyone provide some thoughts on:
1. ALEKS website still has the disclosure of not being able to get ACE credit after 8/2017. (see below). One would think they would update this. Any thoughts? I only ask, because I do not want to risk taking the time to do the course only to find out it won't count. I have emailed ALEKS directly as well. I will post their response.
NOTICE
It is uncertain whether ALEKS will be recertified for the ACE credit program. Unfortunately, after August 31, 2017, users will not be able to request ACE Credit approval for work done in ALEKS. We are working to resolve the recertification issues. We cannot guarantee success in these efforts. If and when we are successful, requests for approval will again be accepted, including work done during the interval of suspended certification. We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
2. Can someone who has take College Algebra comment on how the process works? I know there is an assessment in the beginning and then it builds a course. Do you just complete enough of the coursework to retest? Or does is just know when you have mastered the material? If it is a retest situation, how do you know when to try again? Finally, assuming I am not an Algebra wiz, how many hours do you think this will take to complete?

I wasn't thinking you said it was easy, necessarily. I'm just saying that it's only for one type of learner, and if you are not a visual learner, it's almost the worst way to get through math. I personally do much better watching videos on Khan than I do reading text on ALEKS. If you struggle learning math from a textbook, you are going to really struggle with ALEKS.

Agreed. My oldest son did ALEKS as his math curriculum (followed by college credit) and he did a full 10 month subscription for each class- basically, his ACE transcript has 1 class per year for 5 years. That said, I don't think he's very good at math in that he can *do* it but doesn't have intuition or love for it. The precal class was his last/highest and it was about the top of what he could handle. We went to Khan at that point, but as you know, ALEKS is a little unique in their teaching /format, and he was getting confused at that point - I think probably because he had a lot of gaps in his learning, but that's just my guess. When I needed Stats, I started with ALEKS but switched to Khan. IF I were doing this all over again, I would learn the subject on my own, and then go in and take their tests all in one month. If you can DIY the precal material, you can really go in and swoop them all up for $20. Learning, in my opinion, was kinda clunky. This is still a steal- I second the recommendation: run fast and get these credits asap!
PS Though I haven't used it, I have heard they have textbooks now.

I agree, if I had to do it all over again, I would use Khan Academy to learn the concepts first, then go onto ALEKS to get all the credit. You'd probably get through a lot of the courses on the initial assessment if you did it this way, and possibly not have to do any more than that for all of them (if you can pass the initial assessment with a 70%, you're golden). For $20/mo though, this is the best deal you can find for math.
