The idea that more may be downgraded is lighting a fire under me to get these Shmoop courses knocked out as quick as I can!

You might want to check with TESU, they likely made the changes for all providers at the same time. study.com was just the only ones Communicating these changes.

Yeah, I agree with jsd, I'm afraid they may have made changes already. But it certainly doesn't cost much to take the courses and then see if they transfer as UL like they were. If not, better to know now. I would take them now, transfer them in, and see what happens. The sooner the better.

I shot TESU Advising an email last nightasking about whether the Shmoop literature courses will still come in as upper level.  I'll let you folks know when they get back to me.

I did 4 UL shmoop courses in November and December but haven't transferred them in yet... I'm going to send my transcript in ASAP and post the results.

I believe if you did them before the down grade date it's okay. Generally with this stuff they go by completion date, not transfer date. But there's no guarantee. You'd have a decent case for appeal though, I imagine.

But there has not been an official announcement about Shmoop downgrades has there ? Maybe I missed it, but I thought this was all speculation based on what we know happened at study.com. So the date you speak of is still a guess of 12/31 based on study.com, or do we know this for sure?

We never got official word about Study.com from TESU, official word came from Study.com.

No one has asked TESU about this as far as I know, so we're just making educated guesses at this point. But it would be bizarre to only be downgrading Study.com courses, who they have a partnership with, and not other providers.

But now that the deadline has come, we'll find out soon enough.

I agree.  It has never been TESU that has communicated ANYTHING, it's always Study.com.

And, you can find out more about what's going on with TESU from this forum than anyone at TESU.

The way we're going to find out about downgrades is when someone transfers it in, and TESU gives course equivalencies, and then that person reports back here.  It's how I've been able to create a spreadsheet 1339 lines long of ACE and NCCRS recommended courses and their equivalencies.  Not a single time have I gotten anything from someone at TESU (except my own personal eval info).

I think TESU downgraded Study.com because of the partnership. The discount they offer through Study.com affiliation is bigger than they intended so they want to reduce a student's incentives to take Study.com classes. It's a money thing for TESU. I could be wrong, but I don't think the other ACE providers will be downgraded like that.
