RE: Breakdown of course/site costs - Doodlebabe - 09-19-2017 Thank you for clarifying that @dfrecore! I really appreciate it ☺ RE: Breakdown of course/site costs - a2jc4life - 10-01-2017 Shmoop is unlimited (but their classes are a pain; no proctoring required; some classes require outside texts). SL is 99/month membership + classes, but not all are $59 anymore. They seem to all be under $100, and proctoring is included, as are needed texts. Also, coupon codes are available. Saylor is generally free to take a class, but you have to pay the proctoring fee for ProctorU in order to qualify for credit. I thought that was $35, but I could be wrong. There are more fees if you schedule 2-72 hours in advance or less than 2 hours in advance. A 2-hour test is $25. Ed4Credit is also free. Same with SL. The fee is included in the price of the exam. And apparently it varies by test length; I didn't realize that until yesterday. I think it only varies due to length for some schools. Others are flat rate. If you were to get a bunch of credits (maybe because you weren't sure if you wanted to go through another of the Big 3 or another school or something), then you applied at TESU later, you might just want to take the Capstone - in which case you would be enrolled due to that instead of a TECEP.Wow. I had no idea about the Study.com hook up. Great info. RE: Breakdown of course/site costs - Berzerker - 11-14-2017 Saylor's course content layout gives me a headache |
