My recommendation of WGU (or other competency based) programs are a better fit than just a regular BSBA CIS/BA CS program. Awesome! thanks I will check those out Starting over with math...Study.com, Shmoop, other? - davewill - 06-26-2017 Definitely get started on the math ASAP. You have to answer the question about whether you can do higher math and the only way to know will be to try. I have a hunch that once you start studying in earnest, it will come easier than you think. Also, if you're going to be a software developer, all of the degree options will require math. I'll add Fort Hayes State University to the list of possible CS programs to check out. Starting over with math...Study.com, Shmoop, other? - Ideas - 06-26-2017 If you go for the harder CS degree, you will probably have more and higher-paying options in the future. It seems really worth doing, if you can handle the math (and it will probably cost more, since IT has the cheap WGU options). However, the IT degree would probably take less time, so you could finish quicker. But if you get the IT degree, I would bet you see many jobs that really prefer the CS degree ![]() Starting over with math...Study.com, Shmoop, other? - bjcheung77 - 06-27-2017 bjcheung77 Wrote:I would suggest the BSBA with CIS option instead as well. If you really wanted to continue onward with a more technical degree you can go for a BSIT at WGU, or their BSCIA, even their software development degree. You might want to check out their requirements and also check out Hodges UPower programs as well, they've comptency based too. Again for your "math" enrichment, I still recommend Straighterline and Study.com for the bulk if not all your math credits AFTER taking all you can through ALEKS. I think ALEKS is going to extend the ACE credit recommendation again, unless they've pulled through for a 3-5 year renewal. Good luck. |
