emily.wager Wrote:So Ive been doing a ton of reading and it has helped clear things up just a bit but I still feel like im drowning in information! Is there somewhere that can give me an exact mapped out plan of the courses i need and the corresponding tests and basically exactly what to do? If there is a plan like that for a fast and cheap Bachelors, that would make all my dreams come true!

Yes

Can I get all of the credits I need through straighter line? I would love to simplify things and just do it all in one place

No its not possible to get all credits through straighterline.

You will need, depending on your chosen major, various paths that may include: CLEP, DSST, TECEP, UEXCEL, Study.com, Saylor, Coopersmith, Online class, in person class.

is there a major that I can do the majority of of credits through straighterline?

The BA in liberal studies is the most flexible. TESU limits the number of courses that can be transferred in from one source to 90 credits so the most credits you could transfer in from straighterline would be 90. The other 27 would have to come from another source such as CLEP, DSST, Study.com, etc. Other schools might have similar limits. I believe most gen ed courses could be taken through straighterline. There are a few business courses that may fit the BSBA.

Read everything I mentioned in this thread: Take your time and read the Beginners Guide and Wiki.
The Big3 are the only schools that will allow you to transfer 114/117 credits out of the possible 120.
However, you can only send in 90 credits from one source. So, take several Straighterline courses for up to 90 credits

There are spreadsheets with the EXACT courses you need to take, look for ones that are made by dfrecore
You can take the same exact courses and you will be good to go... don't rush it in asking questions, read read read...

Depending on your major, you won't be able to get all of your credits done through SL for one of two reasons: 1) they don't offer a course that will be required, or 2) they don't offer the UL courses you'll need.

But you can get MANY of your courses done through SL, and finish up in a variety of ways if that's what you want to do.

dfrecore Wrote:If all you want is a BA to check the box at work, then a BALS (BA in Liberal Studies) is definitely the way to go. TESU, COSC or EC are all good options, all similar in price. TESU is the easiest in terms of UL credits as they only require 18cr (5 courses plus their capstone, and all in the Area of Study), while COSC and EC both require 30cr throughout the degree.

Here is a BALS plan from TESU. It shows all courses having an average price of $100, but you can find some for less which would bring the pricing down a bit.

Is there any way that you can have this plan available in a different format? I can't see it as says I have to purchase office which I don't have. Thanks!
