ALEKS just got extended another month (to 1/31/17) so you have a bit more time with that. Precal maxes out your ALEKS credits so you get a potential 12 hours for $20. Well, $40 if you finish in more than a calendar month.

Will try to finish in a month and max out the ALEKS credits available to me. Will be posting my plan here soon, will look forward to your approval on that and any other suggestions you might have with that. Right now I'm working with Sanantone's guide in structuring, just trying to find the list of courses on TESU and see if all his course suggestion and sources are still accpeted by TESU. Kinda hard locating that, checked in the Catalog but no specific list of courses that are accepted.

I'm pretty sure Sanantone's guide is slightly out of date so definitely post your plan here. It may require a few changes.

Sanantone's gen Ed guide is fine and up to date, though doesn't have all options (it's more CLEP heavy as opposed to online testing). Her psych degree plan was for the old catalog, but the psych plan I linked to earlier in this thread is current and all options are still valid for TESU.

So guys, I finally came up with a Path for the GEN ED requirements using Sonantone's Gen Ed guide, though it's more CLEP heavy like JSD mentioned and since I'm looking for only online testing options, which also aren't cost heavy, I'll like to share the path here and welcome suggestions on credit source likewise courses. Thanks.

Here's the Gen Ed Path:

Here's my BALS degree, but you can just look at the upper section for the options for the specific stuff. Once you get to Get Ed electives, you can opt for different things: if you're using a SL membership and like it, you can continue on with it for whichever courses you'd like. IF you're using study.com and want to continue with that, you can. There are tons of Gen Ed electives for both of those. You can also use Saylor, as there are options there as well (and you can use Study.com to study for the exams if you want). I didn't include ALEKS and Shmoop, but those are good options too (ALEKS expires on 1/31/17, so you would need to finish prior to that date).

As far as UExcel goes, I personally wouldn't use those if I didn't have to. They are more expensive than most other options, and you have to go to a testing center for that (not a CLEP or DSST testing center, but a PearsonVUE testing center). The main (maybe only) reason to do UExcel exams is for a grade.

I also would avoid DSST exams if you're out of the country, unless you have a testing center close by. There are other online options for every single option on your list.

TECEP's are also available online, and if you're planning on going to TESU, it would make more sense to take TECEP exams than UExcel exams.

Also, since you are from out of the country, I'm assuming that you speak another language fluently; there are several options for foreign languages, which are a great option for fluent speakers. You will get the most bang for your buck that way - you can CLEP (Spanish, French of German) for 9 LL credits, but you can also pay just $105 for many different languages that are through ACTFL, and get 6-12cr per exam (including a lot of UL credit). There is a huge list of languages they cover, and they also give you a certificate showing that you are fluent in that language, which you are allowed to put on your resume. Just a thought, there is a lot of talk on this forum about it if you need more info.

At TESU, CLEP College Composition (not Modular, the 6-hour one) fulfills the English Composition requirement with one exam. It is *much* more cost effective than the UExcel.

I don't have membership for either study.com, shmoop.com or SL yet, even ALEKS but I'm sure to get the ALEKS registration done soonest because I know for sure I will be testing out all four(4) of the Math courses they provide. I see that you never did anyone of those, that by far is the cheapest way to fulfill the Quantitative and some Electives requirement.

I am trying to avoid testing centers, I am looking for mostly online test, even if it's proctored, I have no problem with that; but will welcome any suggestion that makes this move faster as I look to be done in 6 months tops and should be cost effective, it is so imperative to stress the cost part as I am low on cash and pulling a double most times to have this covered cost wise and still make sure I ain't thrown out to live in the streets.

For language recommendations, I would like to inform you that I'm from Nigeria, being here for a while and have citizenship, I speak only 2 languages, English, which is the first language there and my local dialect which I can't even write, so language is not an option, we have good quality education in my country and all levels of communication is through English, foriegn policies screws the country over and it affects everything down to education, which is why some of this schools in the U.S still have the country listed in the non-english category and ask for TOEFL for even Grad studies, took the TOEFL and SAT more than 10 years, did great and was accepted into RMU and Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania couldn't attend because parents couldn't do up to $30k a year.

Anyway, found myself here, I've let my college degree go to waste, but I came here to improve on that, bailed again because of financial issues but the Lord knows, I'm good at what I chose and what to end it all with maybe a Phd in I/O Psy. I just need guidance from those who really know the depths of testing out. So, that's why I am always asking question. So, thank you guys for every advice and word of encouragement so far.

Shynepapin.

If you say the English Comp from TESU is *much* more cost effective then I will definiately go for that as it also does not require me looking for a testing center near as it is online. If you have a spreedsheet of your path to earning this credits available, please share as I will be more than willing to take a look at that as well.

No classes at TESU are cost effective (TECEPs are decently priced). He was referring to the CLEP exam, which would be cheaper than UExcel.bothe CLEP and UExcel require a testing center, however. Neither are online.

For your ethics course, there's a free online unproctored option you should be using.

312N-H Ethics and the CPCU Code of Professional Conduct (2 credits) - an upper level ethics/philosophy course that meet's TESU's General Education "ethics" requirement (you might have to ask for an exception to be made for the last credit, to be made up as a general ed elective).
To signup, use the following link: Preserve the trust on which insurance transactions are based with an understanding of ethics

Select the FREE option. You do not need to do the $5 option. That is for "Continuing Education credit," which is different than college credit. The free version is ACE approved for college credit.
