That's true, but I graduated from TESC and my diploma reads TESC. Smile

Well, it is a for-profit college. It's a school you attend out of pure pragmatism due to the low cost.

Saharapost Wrote:TESC listed my foreign courses as well as ACE credits. Of course they did not base their GPA on them, but they sure look good on the transcript...

I guess I was thinking that they didn't list them as being taken there. Does it look like you actually took these at TESU, or are they just listed as transferred credits?

On my TESC transcript, transferred credits were marked either TESC Assesment or TESC Foreign or TESC -ACE with each course transferred spelt out and number of credits listed. They didn't of course specify GPA for them. On my Patten transcript, only courses taken at the institution were listed. Unlike TESC which mentioned ENG 101 (for example) on their transcript and its number of credit, Patten was silent about what course transferred. They only stated that 64 semester hours were transferred - no mention of which course made up the 64 credits. My TESC transcript looked as though the classes were all taken at TESC - maybe because I had a no-GPA transcript which made it looked as if all TESC courses were graded same way as the transferred ones...

Seems like we just have to stop being so darned sensitive about it. We know that distance learning works, and we need to act like we really believe it. Sure it's a shame that Patten feels they have to differentiate, but it's also important not to act apologetic when dealing with HR or admissions departments.

Yeah, my degree was done online! Want to make something of it?

[quote=jsd]Wow, they've really changed up their transcripts. Mine didn't indictate online courses, but it also has their old bible school logo on it, haha.

They really run everything in a bizarre way over there.[/]

Mine didn't say indicate online either.

Patten University Online sounds like the online programs are a separate school within the university. Sort of the way colleges have a separate division for their nontraditional programs. It is actually a small college with a campus but their website only has information about the online degrees. There are actually lots of offerings on-campus that aren't available online but their website makes no mention of them.

That's because they no longer offer their on campus program to new students. They grandfathered their current students and are shutting that aspect down because they don't have the funds to maintain it, according to their last WASC filing

Rumor has it that Patten University is going fully online and shutting down their campus anytime soon. Am not sure where I read this.
