I would suggest getting whatever you can completed with higher grades for the courses you're taking now... and then study for the MCAT. As you know more in each science course, that exam should be easier to you. Furthermore, they look at other requisites as well. When you're done your exams, I wouldn't stress over it, apply to several schools across the nation and see what they all say.

It's one application for MDs, I assume she'll apply to all of them.

I'm the first one to encourage someone, but if she can get into med school with 2 C's in general chemistry, I'll bake cookies for you and the OP- I'll even bring the lemonade. I'm going to not be popular when I say this- but she's too young to have anything but perfect grades. Only non-trads or people with phenomenal references/alumni letters get in with a C in one of the prerequs (nevermind BOTH semesters).

I just want to clarify that I am only just starting to consider med school, and overall do not think I will do it. I am not seriously bent on it as I know there are thousands of other students out there who are a hundred times more brilliant than me, and there is a great cost both with both time and finances. Overall, it sounds like you guys are saying that if I want to even consider med school, I will need to retake Gen Chem. Hopefully, my current grade in it now does not completely eliminate it as a possibility. Thank you to all who have responded up to this point, and I hope that others will continue to post about it, as I would still love to see your responses. Smile
