Iâm currently enrolled in the AA CIT degree program. I started in February and Iâve completed 26 CU so far. I transferred in most of my general education classes from a previous school. I only have about 16 CU left. I took about 2 months off, if I didnât I could have probably finished in one 6 month term. I took my studies in sprints. Studying almost 24/7 for a couple months and then doing nothing for a month. It works for me.
Most classes are pre and post test. If you pass the pretest then you can automatically take the post test which are about the same level of difficulty. For the project based classes you submit a pre project, the instructor tells you whatâs wrong with it (the feedback is really helpful!) then you submit the final project really similar to the pre project. The classes where they have you do projects are the so much work but I feel like Iâve learned the most from them. Some classes have you test in the beginning and then theyâll have an end project.
I really wanted to get my AA in IT before I got my BS. Hodges was the only school that I found that offered an AA in IT completely online with a good price. After the Pell grant and the FL residence private school grant I only had to pay a few hundred out of pocket for tuition. I also had to pay for LabSim, my certification, a webcam, and to have my transcripts sent over. I plan on going to WGU for my BS even though itâs a little more expensive. I rather pay for everything at once and not have to worry about how Iâm going to pay for training material or certifications during the term.
The thing I dislike most about the program is that when you are taking the general classes you can take them 2 at a time so if you finish one you can immediately begin the next but once you get into your core classes you have to take them one by one and it can take up to 2 business days for you to be enrolled in your next class. So if you finish a class on Thursday you wonât be begin on your next class until Monday! Thatâs 3 days where you canât study at all. You donât have access to any of the course material. I do believe that my adviser tried to get me in the classes as soon as she could but when youâre in a rush to get as many classes done before you feel like you need to take a break again, it can really slow things down.

I'm on a lot of other discussion boards.
I am not saying this in particular is, because I don't care enough to root it out, but what happens often times is a training company or product seller will discount a few students / shoppers to go post a question somewhere on a message board full of target demographics.
Then, they swoop in and answer the question, while making sure to put some contact information in the post. It's much cheaper than buying ad space on the forum, and all they have to do is tend to their trot lines every couple of days instead of getting rolled up in some major marketing campaign.
A few sites I know will straight up moderate and erase that type of behavior.
But, I don't know the person, or the college, so I'm just offering a wide, generic viewpoint here.

100% agree.
One post wonders on any discussion/review site and product reviews that say "I was given a free product in exchange for my 100% honest review" always gets that company on my ban list for life. If a product or service feels that fake reviews are more important than improving the product or service, that tells you where the company's priorities are. Guilty until proven innocent is not fair, but too bad. I don't have time to root out the 0.01% chance the reviews might be real. This problem is so bad with shopping sites that there is a website called fakespot that checks for fakes on Amazon.
