Sorry, now I'm confused. If 10 days after the next term begins you are switched to enrolled, how would you remain an applicant for up to 6 months?

You only switch to enrolled if you enroll under a tuition plan or register for a TESC course or TECEP. After applying most students have up to 6 months before they have to enroll. One can enroll by registering for a TECEP and then 10 days into the semester the status will switch from applicant to enrolled. I registered for a TECEP a couple months after applying so I was considered an applicant for a couple of months. I applied in Feb and had the status of applicant. I registered for a TECEP for the April semester. The second week of April my status switched to enrolled. A student can apply in Jan but wait until the May semester to register for a TECEP if they want to.

I applied, paid the $75 and registered for a TECEP all in a week. That was in October. The semester started in November. My clep transcript just got there last week so no eval yet but I'm worried about the nonmatriculating status. Not sure if I should wait until after the eval to see a change or call and have them switch my student status. If I do, will I have to pay some enrollment fee? I hope I didn't mess this up!

I'm thinking my problem is that i applied under non degree seeking. I thought I read I was supposed to do it that way and then wait for it to switch over after enrolling in a TECEP. Maybe that's my issue?

I think you might be right. If you applied as non degree seeking then you may have to apply again but as a degree seeking student. You will want to ask TESC. They can check your status and figure out the problem. If you registered in the Nov semester you should have an academic eval completed by now if your degree seeking. I almost did the same thing, apply as non degree because that is what an advisor said to do. Non degree status is for a student from another school who wants to take a TECEP for credit to transfer back to their school.

Thanks. I will call and see if they can switch me. Ugh it sounds like I would have to pay enrollment fee which defeats the purpose.

Just tell them you want to enroll in the Per-Credit Tuition Plan, there is no fee.

You might have to pay the $75 application fee again but do not pay the enrollment fee.

Duh, you're right. I'm freaking out about this and forgot that the ppc plan doesn't have the fee. Whew I'll try calling tomorrow to make the switch. Thank you all so much for putting me at ease! This place is the best. I wouldn't be near this far without you all.
