Do you knso if when sending an ACE transcript of the failed CLEPS show up on there. My chances might be shot at a Masters degree anyway, but just curious if these look terrible when failing one.

Failed courses do not post to ACE.

Do not feel bad. I passed 26 DSST exams, 12 CLEP, and 9 ECEs and also failed American Government.:reddevil: Failed exams do not show up on DSST or CLEP. Not sure about ECEs?

Thank you all for the encouragement. Good to hear they do not show up. I think next time I will buy the REA book for kindle or Google play. Probably would have been better off using it with IC instead of the Free CLEP prep quick sheet. All in all it was a learning experience that will prepare me for the next one.

Oneast question, are all CLEP test 5 multiple choice? The free CLEP test was 4 and I figure that in. Who knows if it would have made a difference but a 25% chance to get a correct answer as compared to a 20% chance might have gave me two more right.

What is SL? is it straighterline?

Failed CLEP - videogamesrock - 08-25-2015

Yes SL is straighterline.

Failed CLEP - cstock - 08-25-2015

tsimmns, Don't let it get you down. If you still need the credit and have time try US history 1 and 2 before retaking American Gov. They build on each other pretty good. Also, don't let a failed test get you. I have passed a lot of Cleps and Dsst tests but have also failed 3 of them. Hang in there!Good luck!! Also, all the cleps are 5 choices for answers.

tsimmns Wrote:So I failed my first ever CLEP, American Government. 48,ugh. Used IC, free CLEP prep, and the Cliffs notes Book that I read on KINDLE. Spent about two weeks preparing, however hardly nothing I studied was on the test. Disappointing, but not any of the prep materials fault. Mainly was working of stuff I believed that kept me from passing.

So what now for the TESC, Government class? SL? How does SL and TESC as I read they don't actually take the class directly from SL. Do you have to sent the SL class off to ACE or what? Also, any other options for this? I could do AMU and probably get an easy pass, but that's 750 as compared to a free CLEP or 130 or so for the SL.

I am SO SORRY this happened. That's a bummer. I failed one exam too, it was Civil War and Reconstruction- it feels like a kick in the teeth. I'm not sure the best choice as a replacement for these credits, just wanted to give you some encouragement and tell you not to take it too hard- you'll recover!!

Thanks again guys for the words of encouragement. I figure I'll knock this out at some point. Considering enrolling at AMU, just to possibly have a transcript to supplement my poor performance at the B&M school 10 years ago. I think most of the stuff will transfer, but will also do some ACE to save money. For those that only study a few hours for these, I congratulate you. I failed the first one with two weeks, ha. I think I'll try the Intro to Sociology one next, maybe I'll pass and gain some confidence along the way.
