1. 33, Michigan
2. I wear what I personally like
3. Student

I hope everything is going well with your paper. There is not as much activity with the Capstone class discussion boards as I thought there would be. I am torn about whether or not to do this quick survey method or do a real interview for my research paper. For those that haven't taken the Capstone, the instructor (at least for me, probably everyone else too) put on the comments section of my Chapter 1 draft that it is strongly encouraged to do a survey or interview an expert related to the capstone topic. However, I never really could understand if it was a requirement or not.

This is a sexist thread. Wink

Part 1:
Age- 18
Location- West Coast

Part 2:
I wear what I personally like - I shop a lot of thrift...I tend to go for what's cute and clean and in good condition LOL. But I enjoy taking cues from other people's style and using similar texture/color combinations (not necessarily the same style, but the pairings, I guess.) I also get inspiration from different cities up and down the West Coast I've lived in or visited...hence the "West Coast" although right now I'm in SoCal, home of surfers and bikers, haha.

Part 3:
Student

OH forgot to mention...WHATEVER FITS!! I'm slim and petite. Slim doesn't mean I can wear anything...I can't find a decent pair of jeans that's modest enough yet won't fall off. :/

Thanks! Everything is going well! For me, Professor Ryan didn't put that a survey or interview was required, he just said that students enjoyed doing them and found them helpful. After he said that, I communicated with him about possible ways to do that. One thing he said was that you could even post questions on Facebook! I settled on this survey, set it up, and told him about it. He said that he's actually very flexible about this project if he knows you have ideas and are trying them out Wink So, it might help if you email and talk to him about it...that really has been helping me Cool Hope it goes well for you and you figure out something awesome!

I voted for 'I wear what I personally like." I'm about 20 pounds overweight and don't want to call attention to it so I tend to go for 'flowy' peasant-style shirts that cover about half my bum and pants that don't give me muffin top. Quality is important, but brand names are not. There are a few stores (Banana Republic, Gap, NY&Co) I go to for most of my clothes because I tend to like their general style, but I also love thrift shops and flea markets, especially for neat vintage stuff and purses.

Good luck!

Part 2

What is your main source of fashion inspiration?

I agree with Cookderosa - I also dress based on industry standards. Unfortunately, I work with a lot of men, so I can't really imitate a certain style. (darnit!! I actually have to think about it!) But since it's extremely important to be well-dressed in my field, I have chosen a few classic designers that I feel don't change too much from year to year, whose clothing fits my body type, and whose clothing I can find at an outlet mall. Yes - I have to wear expensive outfits, but I don't have to spend a lot!
