Chemistry CLEP - Best Approach - CLEP_enthusiast - 08-08-2013 I'd recommend getting a College Chemistry book like Tro. Chemistry: a molecular approach, 1st edition. I used the same book in my class(2nd edition) If it's anything like the Peterson's test the part you'll have trouble is on any of the questions regarding lab stuff. These concepts are pretty difficult to grasp without doing the lab. So get the book cover chapters 1-12 do all odd problems 10-100. A few things weren't covered in my class that was on the Peterson's test. Reaction rates, Rate Law, Allotrope, equilibrium equations, and generally weird wording about laws (Ie textbook answers you can Google!). Like one question asked about the law of entropy, which is a confusing unless you quote it, well they didn't and I wasn't sure what the right answer is. I answered all the questions in plenty of time, just confused on some of the questions and what they were answering. I got a 54 on the practice test but I'm sure I could get mid 60's with a little review and studying the topics I wasn't familiar with. This is very doable. (By the way, I got an A in my general college chemistry class.) Chemistry CLEP - Best Approach - spudbunny - 01-23-2014 Hello Everyone, I am starting my preparation for the chemistry CLEP. I have a copy of the REA CLEP Chemistry book - can anyone comment on the usefulness of this book as a resource? I would especially be interested in hearing if the practice tests in this book are similar to the actual exam. Spudbunny Chemistry CLEP - Best Approach - lprstn - 01-23-2014 I purchased CLEP Professor Chemistry cd set for my dd. She took the course but needed a directed approach. It cost about $39.
