I agree with you. I do not believe Rutgers would have kept the old "assessment college" to their name? The New Brunswick and Newark campuses barely like Camden? Some here may have benefited, but in the future it would have been the Big 2. ![]() RE: N.J. That was basically my point as well. If TESC had merged with Rutgers, they would likely have been forced to reduce the number of transfer credits they accept toward a degree and I suspect there would have been limits added to the type of alt. credits they accept. Such changes would have removed them from the big 3 at the least and made them a much less desirable destination for adult learners. RE: N.J. Wow was this really almost 9 years ago? Seems like yesterday! I read through my old comments (which took wayyyyy too long lol but it was so nice to revisit some of my old board-mates from back in the day) but I still think that it would have hurt students. I think with TESU's new president, that she'd JUMP at a merger opportunity whereas before they were really in their own lane. I'm glad it's off the table and a non-issue. RE: N.J. Governor Wants to Merge Thomas Edison Into Rutgers - jsd - 03-12-2019 TESU is already slowly pushing away the alternative-credit crowd through it's pricing... go full steam and merge with Rutgers. We'll still have a Big 2 and a new crop of Big CBE schools to work with. RE: N.J. Governor Wants to Merge Thomas Edison Into Rutgers - zzzz24 - 03-12-2019 Yes, please merge with Rutgers after my graduation and send me a new degree pretty please. RE: N.J. Governor Wants to Merge Thomas Edison Into Rutgers - Sparklette - 03-12-2019 I kind of feel like since they have changed the designation to University that a merger would be less likely. Prior, it could have been like adding an additional college to Rutgers, like an extension school. RE: N.J. Governor Wants to Merge Thomas Edison Into Rutgers - jsd - 03-12-2019 I think there are a lot of reasons it won't ever happen. I don't think Christie had much support for the proposal to begin with. With him out, I don't think there's anyone interested in that fight. |
